At coastal regions of Andaman and Nicobar - alkaline soils I think I have listened that these islands are formed of lava eruption under water so I think they are made up of black soil other than coastal regions.

1:03:33 Indeed sir . But by history perspective , archaeologists found that there was good amount of water in rajasthan in ancient days , evidences such as fish bones were found . Although we assume that there was ample amount of water at that time . But due to Aravali ranges which acts like a natural frontier for rajasthan and.some part of gujurat it blocked the cold & rainy winds and clouds of arabian sea from entering into the state which initially resulted in evaporation of the left over water and the soil gets sandy and saline .
