I use the same exact design. Though i wish it was beter build quality. Urs looks nicer! But i think this is the best designs out there.. because u can put it anywhere.. out of blocking air, blocking the view out of windshiel

I have 2 questions. 1. Can the magnets in the magnetic phone holder damage the phone's circuitry in the long run? 2. Do you recommend buying extra adhesive bases? I am not going to take off the phone holder off my dash board every time I leave the car or do you recommend that to avoid attracting burglars. I have never used a car phone holder before. This is going to be my first one. I have already ordered the product. It will arrive on April 1.

Thanks alot for the video , i was just wondering what to get , I have case with built in metal plate so returning mount which was normal one i decided why not going with magnet , much better . Needed that video , Keep them posting . Needed something like long mount so i can record with back camera my trips sometimes , this one will suit the need perfectly .

Problem with any magnetic phone holder is when you use it when the temperature is warm or hot in the car, the phone will get extremely hot too. The holder sits in the car and the magnet stays hot. When you put the phone on it, the heat from the magnet transfer to the phone and makes it really hot. Never use phone magnet holder during the warm/hot season.

My problem is I have an otterbox on my galaxy note s20 5g which I thick & my phone is very heavy. I use my phone in on mounts horizontally, so with one I just got the magnet that goes in my phone is not very strong. The only way my phone doesn't tilt while driving is if I would put the magnet on the outside & I'm not doing that. So my question is, how is the mount for heavier phones & horizontally? Does it tilt easily while driving?

By the way Remember that the dash has to be really clean what I do I use rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer to make sure that there's No oil or grease on the dash That way the stance is clean and dirt doesn't Build up and make the suction pad overtime weaker.

I agree with all what you have said. Those others are just waste of money and they fall off. But this phone stand that I have is excellent similar to the one that you are doing a review on. It's called HOCO it is CA42. Supersuction magnetic very powerful magnet. I love it. Nice thing about having a phone stand is that the cops can't accuse you of touching the phone when you weren't. About 4 years ago I was sitting at a stop light and I wanted to check. If I had my wallet with me so what I did? I started taking everything out of my purse and I put it on my lap and as I was putting everything back. The cops seen me putting everything back into my purse. And he could see that my Phone was on my lap and I explained to him. I was just going to my purse to check to see if my wallet was in there. And of course I had to take everything out of my purse and rummage into it and yet at the same time I had one hand on the wheel. As I was waiting for the light to turn red and Still looking forward at the light. It was a long light so I knew that I had a chance to just quickly reach into my handbag and he came along and accused me of using the. Phone I fought it 4overayear. It's always his word against yours and of course he's going to win in the end mainly because there are a lot of people that make up lame excuses. But with a phone scan you have a good chance? I'm not that happening you are hand free and if I had a phone stand on the - with my phone on there. I wouldn't have had to Explain to the cop what I was doing. I remember one time. The crop told me that he had to stop this one guy who was using 2 cell phones. And he says I don't know why he was using two cell phones at once. I know exactly what was happening the kid was a drug dealer and so he phones one guy and talks to the young man who is a middle man. And then he transfers that information over to the second guy who is Selling drugs. Funny the cop never knew that

That does look better than the suction mount with ratchet clamp, which is what I have, I mount it to the windshield but that impairs my vision. I position it just below the mirror to minimize the problem but if it would stick on the dash I could optimize the location. I don’t have a large area of smooth plastic on top of the dash. Does the suction actually hold on a textured dash, or is the sticky stuff what keeps it in place?

I holds very well on a textured dash. The sticky material actually helps it retain its suction.

The big problem with these sticky suction cups is that if you live somewhere where it gets really hot in the summer, the adhesive will melt and make a huge mess in your vehicle.

The instructions that come with this unit say not to leave it in direct sunlight. Honestly though, I almost never remove mine so I'm sure I will have a mess to deal with if I do need to move it.

The four prong magnets are absolute garbage and constantly fall off. I don't recommend them to anybody.

The problem with that is that if you don’t take the mount off the dash every time, a thief sees that and will think something valuable is linked to that. They will break in the car to find the valuables. So that’s a terrible idea unless you take it down and hide the phone holder.
