You need "Pocket NC V2" . me too. This is the minimum.

I would like a Pocket NC, but my main aim to to design things that anyone with a cheap 3D printer and some simple tools can make.

What's the scenario where this would be advantageous over a standard 11:1 gearbox? Also, I hear backlash all the time but am not 100% sure what the term means. Is it the slop in the input between the output being driven forward vs driven in reverse?
@PaulGouldRobotics4 жыл бұрын
Advantages- no teeth contact, no friction, overload protection & high efficiency. More details in the research papers in the description. You are correct, backlash it is the slop between the input and output shafts.

how much torque can this gearbox hold? looks like a stepper motor
@PaulGouldRobotics4 жыл бұрын
It is somewhere between 5Nm and 10Nm.

Cool design what if you put it in a robot arm
@PaulGouldRobotics4 жыл бұрын
I would need to be improved the design a fair bit. It is large/heavy for the amount of torque it transfers. It is not balanced. It is also quite expensive $50 for magnets and $20 of bearings. It was just a proof of concept.

I've done enough KZbin research to know that device produces anti-gravity and/or free energy. Seriously, you did a great job showing the mechanism but I think I'll need to watch the video a few more times to grok it.

If you replaced the outer stator with that of a stepper motor I wonder if you could very the gear ratio by changing the step size, ofc I do not know off the too of my head if that's possible without having the poles changing as they do in the motor

Is it possible make higher gear ratio for this construction??
@PaulGouldRobotics4 жыл бұрын
Yes, smaller magnets and less spacing could get about twice the reduction in the same diameter.

Interesting design, what where your intentions back when you made it?

I was trying to find the perfect gearbox for a quadruped robot. I like that is springy and skips when overloaded, so jumping and landing are damage free (SEA). I find that the best way to learn about something, is to make it.
@DerSolinski4 жыл бұрын
@@PaulGouldRobotics There is an idea ripening in my head for a low cost elastic torque actuator with adjustable springiness. It is still a concept and has many flaws, but I guess just building it would be way faster then brooding over it 🤣 I'll make a video once it is build maybe you'll have use for it. But it will take some time, I moved and are still missing some vital furniture... like a kitchen 😅 or a suitable workbench...
