Magneto literally having a Jungian Shadow Persona moment with himself. I don’t think that would have hit me nearly as hard as it would have if this had been done five years ago. The acceptance of his failings and darkness, rather than rejecting them, and coming out of it a more whole and complete person. Done wonderfully, and made even better with Rob offering details and explanation. Hits hard. Hits good.

I kind of agree this reflects the concept that no matter how old you get we are always changing and evolving through either our own personal choices or how the world changes with us. When you’re young you’re optimistic and believe in miracles but as you get older you become cynical and you’ll lose a good deal of that faith realizing that at the end of the day there really isn’t any magic and that sometimes if you want something you have to work for it it won’t just magically appear in front of you all the time. And even if you are a religious person it is foolish to believe that every single prayer that you make is going to be answered by God because you are not the only person in this world when you think about it there are millions if not billions of people who also have prayers so you have to think if your prayer is as important as the other several billion people who are also praying. Anyway I like this dialogue it’s a perfect metaphor for one dealing with one’s self. It’s kind of like finding an old VHS tape in a box in the attic putting it in the machine and then seeing just how goofy you think you were back then and reflect on the person you are now.
@nicholasdiaz192510 ай бұрын
@@John-Doe-Yo The joke wasn't implying our lives were bad in middle school, but that there's a strong chance we were pretty cringey and edgy due to a general lack of life experience and perspective mixed with the inability to properly process the normal emotions and frustrations of life that most people deal with. It wasn't a dig, it's just the natural state of adolescence for many people. Developing minds and all that

@m.mulder8864 that is such a good point but then why not just have speedsters have their own unique threats and challenges to face? @m.mulder886410 ай бұрын
@@yoyomayne we do that quite often. Specifically with the Flash. Flash battles evil speedsters. The problem is that speed is still the defining factor and the escalating story requires escalating speed. The good speedster has to become faster than the bad speedster.
