For anyone wondering, they dont get a say in the models or design. Cover gets the designs done and then matches people in interviews up with the models. There have even been times in the past when nobody from the audition ended up fitting the models, so they just released the designs and started over

That's an odd way to do it, you could have the best talent possible but if they don't fit the design, sorry go join our competitors.

@@hurrdurrmurrgurr I'm sure if they find someone that's really talented, they'll get them one of the backup models they have ready. But not every audition is like that one with the Bird and Racoon models. As in, not all auditions announce the models before casting for talents. I think Gen 3 was like that, though. They already got 2 talents but released the 3 remaining models and opened auditions.

One addendum is that the talents, upon seeing their model for the first time, do get to request small edits if they want though not all of them will go through. Gura for example was the one who requested her shark teeth be visible on her model, which went through, but also requested an ahoge in her hair, which got vetoed.

"I'm just like any other person" is the perfect answer to "Do you get to choose what your avatar looks like?" I swear Magni has Speech 100

I LOVE his design so much, ever since it was revealed 🙏 I'll defend this design to the death LOL there's SO MUCH of the same thing (especially in corporate male vtubers) which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it makes his design super refreshing and weird and unique and *chef kiss* LOVE IT love it 🛐🛐

It's rare to see a lot of these nowdays since he mostly uses the png attachments so it's nice to see them every now and then. (Also just a quick heads up, at around 3:55 sounds like he saying "I've yeeted you")

What many people haven't realised is that Cover's designs go beyond just having a name and design that sticks. Anyone who has delved into their name wordplay processes will discover how seriously well-thought out they are. It's not just as simple as tacking Sir McCoolName to an edgy or tacky character and calling it a day. Of course for us wordplay enthusiasts, it also begs the question of which comes first - the name or the character. Not all generations of talents come as a set, but when they do, erasing or redesigning one means the entire theme that comes with it is ruined individually, and collectively. Unlike real life, where we can rename ourselves legally and nothing about our appearance changes, this is not so for fictional characters whose names and designs are bound together. If one goes, so does the other. In the case of every talent you've met in hololive, ask yourself - has any of them, male or female, failed to meet your expectation of the character they have become? The very reason I'm on this side of the pasture, is because Cover impressed me so much more with their wordplay and naming sense. There was greater thought, than just tagging a suitable name to the appearance of a talent.

I do like the design, a lot of thought went into Magni's model.

It’s such a bizarre design but it really works

Magni do be a smooth one answering that question (not that it's gonna be a massive violation imo)

Other talents have answered that question before, to different degrees of detail.

Damn thats crazy how many toggles he has for things like his arms, its so cool to see! Dont always see that in company vtubers, especially not arm and hand options. Ive come to really love and appreciate his design lately haha

thank you for this clip! if I had to give some feedback, it's common practice to cut out the silent parts atleast to not drag it out too much, of course you do what you wanna do but there's a difference between having a long clip because there's a lot of content and having a long clip because there's a lot of silence and fluff in between
