I remember around 1-2 months after his debut, he did said something really sad out of nowhere in a collab like sitting in the Macdonald parking lot at 3am eating and cried (correct me if I’m wrong). But after that with soo many collab with the boys and the VG boys debut, he seem so much happier when he surrounded by all of Tempus boys. (I think that part of the reason why many magmites really like his collab stream just playing game and chilling with everyone) Seeing him become happier everyday and a little needy towards his friends genuinely made me happy. I just hope he doesn’t feel bad when he being too needy tho lol.

I think it's because those people severely underestimate what their friends are capable of, and become confused and frustrated when their friend suddenly surpasses their expectations. Hell, I've been guilty of thinking my friends' dreams were dumb several times in my life, and in my case it's because I would think that my friend's big dream wouldn't work out with the ability they've already shown me. But the thing I think most people forget is that humans can learn and improve indefinitely, and that means anyone can achieve their big dreams as long as they put their mind to it and stick to the grind.

Because most of the times if you know they're decent people, they worry this big dream will destroy you in your attempt to attain in, a friend of mine wanted to drop out of school, become a dj at the high point of the house scene (aka, it could only go down) and make it big that way. So guess what? I kinda hesitantly supported him, gave him the tools to do so, he tried to get in an education for it, got declined once, gave up after a year and tried to get rich quick through a pyramid scheme, which he barely escaped and now he is finally doing ok in construction but it basically cost him 4 YEARS OF HIS LIFE. So sometimes, it's ok to tell someone to focus on mundane stuff like education, because shortcuts to success are not a stable future.

The important thing that Magni's friends did not do is that either way, when your friend succeeds in their dream, celebrate their successes. If you were a doubter, say "I didn't think you could do it, but you proved me wrong; you're amazing." If they were hurt by your doubts and your friendship faded, you probably were too strong with your friendly advice, so that's something you have to live with. The way I approach those situations is to express my concerns and ask my friend to consider those concerns for themself. I avoid expressing my own opinion and telling them they are wrong to have their dream. If you supported them all the way, naturally celebrate with them. If they don't succeed, then make sure to be there to comfort them and help them find a new direction for themselves. Definitely don't rub it in and tell them "I told you."

man, that really sucks. But I agree, if Magni's old friends would rather go against him rather than support him, what's even the point of trying to keep a fake toxic friendship. It's hard to take that step forward. I've had to remove old friends from my life as well just cause we've grown up into such different people that our personalities clash constantly, and it's just not worth the stress trying to work it out anymore. But on the flipside, I'm so happy for Dez, and all the holostar boys really, that they were able to form such an authentic friendship with each other.

Going for a better life for yourself will make you find out who your true friends are real quick and when you're in an ultra competitive field like entertainment you will find almost none of them will stick with you/be happy for you when you do make it

I recently stopped hanging out with some gaming BFFs after realizing that nothing productive came of us being around each other, like drinking or gambling buddies. Man, this one hits quite a bit. I've had good friends I've had to cut ties with for the sake of my own well-being, either because they changed into toxic people, went down a self-destructive path and got mad that I wasn't the "supportive" friend I was "supposed" to be, or like in Magni's case, weren't there for me when I needed them the most, especially when they always came to me for their problems. I've had people get all chummy with me but immediately start asking for favors with no intention of ever repaying them, think I'm a chill dude but want to change everything that makes me "me" so I'm a reflection of them just so they feel more validated about their own poor life choices, or want to use me as a vehicle to elevate themselves if I ever find real success in this world. Finding true friends isn't easy. People in general don't like others who get further in life than they do, and will happily drag everyone else down instead of lifting themselves up and making more of their own lives. It's even worse when those people happen to be your friends. I usually say you have two types of friends: Insecure ones that want you to do all kinds of stupid shit with them but will immediately turn against you whenever they feel you're surpassing them, and your true friends who want you to achieve your goals and happiness and don't care if you make it ahead of them in life, because they're either content enough with their own or you inspire them to seek out something similar for themselves.

May I suggest the title change to remove the last part about the old friends harassing? I think the "Magni Dezmond on becoming a holostar" is good enough. I feel like the last part adds an expectation to the video when it's really more about unexpectedly meeting the other boys and unexpectedly finding new close friends. The part about him being harassed was very minor and I think by making that the title it gives expectations and might provoke/change the overall sweetness of the bittersweet mood of the clip especially since this will definitely grow in the algorithm soon and be seen. I just think some tact would be really good here.

Calliope More probably put it most accurately- it's in her contract that she can't say anything about her other work, but it doesn't matter what chat says or knows. Almost all corporate vtubers have a past in content creation with at least some measure of success, and even among the ones that don't still actively pursue those careers and passively benefit from multiple audiences, very few of them are well-kept secrets. Saying someone's name in stream chat or posting a photo on twitter literally has zero effect on the streamer.

Yesterday he was streaming in twitch with 2 other friends, so technically Cover knows and give perms to being active in both platform as vtuber and twitch/youtube streamer. As long as he is happy, that's all that matters.

as long as they're not the one explicitly revealing their other "persona" or irl identity on purpose, it should be okay. several holopro talents are still active on their other account(s) and it's more of a "if you know, you know" thing. the company (or at least chat mods) might bonk people who tries to leak their identities if things are getting out of hand, but the blame won't go to the talents as long as it doesn't involve NDA info (like private conversation screenshot about internal things, etc). after all, there are limits on how you mask your voice or streaming style, no matter how careful you are.

Success in a big scale really proves who really is in your corner specially if you're the type of person who has many "friends". Calli experienced this too from her group of "friends" I remember that even her teacher/mentor turned on her according to her, not surprising because she hanged out with a bunch of genderspecials and they're prone to crab in a bucket behavior. It's nice to hear he found a group of homies to replace the old ones and is in better spirits.
