Everyone grieves because of Prince Mustafa's death!
The letter which has been found on Mustafa casts Suleiman down. Cihangir's clamour rounds the whole camp and he wants an explanation for the promise he his father made. Rustem barely runs away from the janissaries's anger and gets expelled from Grand Vizier. The people and soldiers in Istanbul starts a revolt against Hurrem and Rustem. Mahidevran gets devastated because of his son's death. Meanwhile, Mihrunnisa fights for his son Mehmet's life after Mustafa. At first, Hurrem enjoys the victory of defeating her enemy, bu then she sheds tears for Mustafa. Suleiman fights with Mustafa's ghost.
Suleiman reads the letter found on Mustafa. Mustafa's words wounds Suleiman deeply. Suleiman thinks his son might be innocent and takes his anger out of Rustem. Rustem hardly saves his own life and gets expelled from grand vizier. Kara Ahmed Pasha gets charged as Grand Vizier.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Why dedicate a whole episode to mustafa who died as a traitor, when they didn’t show more then 10 minutes of how Mehmeds loved ones even reacted when he died. Did mahidevrin forget she had Hurrems first born son killed, broke that gifted mirror and then the pigeon was killed in front of her? She should have never meddled with the life of a first born, than maybe her first born would have never had to die. An eye for an eye. A first born for a first born. Karma!

Are you being for real? In this series Mustafa definitely wasn't a traitor, did you watch the previous episodes and how Hurrem, Mihrimah and Rustem plotted against Mustafa with the fake letter? Mustafa's loyalty and love towards his father killed him, if he revolted against him he would have been a sultan, he had the janissaries begging him to revolt yet he didn't. Meanwhile Mehmed on the other hand, he was kind and loving but a very boring character + the actress that played Hurrem wasn't present so we didn't get to see her weeping over her son.

Also karma also got Hurrem later when Cihangir died of sorrow over his brother. She signed her own son's death order by executing Mustafa. I wish she lived long enough to see Selim and Bayezid fighting over the throne and killing each other. Probably if Mustafa has taken the throne, none of her sons would be killed

Mahidevran is a funny character. She killed Mehmet, Hurrem’s son, but can’t take it when her son died. A life for a life. Debts settled.

You’re right but there’s a slight difference between how they were killed: Mehmet through plague infection which could happened to anyone, and Mustafa - executed by his own father as an alleged traitor, it’s much more tragic and dramatic. Besides, Mahidevran after his death was left with nothing, became poor and had no children left, while Hurrem lost one of her 5 children, and still remained at the top.

At 10:56. Did the person who wrote the script of this letter in this episode was a descendant of Mustafa or something? It feels so personal. I understand that there are some history books that claim Mustafa was innocent, others claim that he was a traitor.

The real reason for killings of brother's is the sultan fault he had too many concubines as a lustful ruler end up haveing too many sons who will kill each other for the throne so who was the real sinner ? What's the point of being a Great sultan if he cant safe his own son's life and wining in so many battles if he cant safe his own blood and flesh?? I feel pity for all the lost lifes😔

That was literally the whole point of a harem. This was the norm back then. Have a lot of heirs and then when it's time the best prince would inherit the throne. It was also encouraged to have as many sons as possible because people used to die younger and more often due to medicine not being as advance as it is now.

Yes exactly Lordsami2006! How was the ruler of the “world” Suleiman supposed to rule the world when he couldn’t even rule his own home? His kids were literally fighting each other and hurting each other just to get to the throne. He should have straightened them out from the start, especially his wife. He had the power to change the laws and rules and traditions of the rival sons having to kill their brothers to avoid a fight.

@@elishalittle9096 the thing is he was a great ruler but he failed to be the same kind of ruler in his home he let his wife into his mind and that got his most competent son killed his other son died mourning his dead brother he also killed his other son and the one left was a drunkard peace of filth who couldn't do nothing and his wife ruled and the empire was ruined from then on with corruption and other factors

​@@lordsami06 Finally someone with common sense. Suleiman was selfish and thought of himself only and dismissed the fact that Mustafa could be a great ruler in the future like him. On the contrary, he felt threatened by the courage of his own son. He didn't think of the fate of the Ottoman empire. Even history books talk about Sultan Selim II as a lazy Sultan who didn't do any remarkable works for his empire.
