I despise the real Hurrem for playing the dirty game instead of staying out of the sultan’s bed, not giving birth to sons who have to either kill or be killed, and eventually getting the sultan to kill her rivals. But if the fictional Hurrem behaved ethically, then we wouldn’t have a drama 😉. The plot is entertaining, but Hurrem is two-dimensional and lacks true character development. We don’t see the wit, charm, and intelligence that captivated Suleiman the magnificent. All she does is tell him how much she loves him and complain that she doesn’t see him enough. As a dramatic villain, her character as written lacks sophistication. Compare her to Ibrahim’s character, where we see a more three-dimensional character development.

Valide Hafsa had a stroke after she knew from Nigar had a relationship with Ibrahim and Nigar was pregnant. Hurrem made a final blow to Valide Hafsa by telling her that Hatice should know and Ibrahim should also be punished which Valide didnt want to hurt her beloved Hatice. She succeeded in eliminating Ibrahim from her path between her and Sulaiman by proving Ibrahim's plan to be in power using Mustafa. She succeeded in getting more power over Mahidevran. She succeeded in her psy war with the Sultan about Ibrahim and Mustafa getting into power by dethroning the sultan after they conquer Italy, as Ibrahim said to statemen, all Ottoman lands were on his hands. All hurrem words were all smart words, I call it proactive strategies which the rest of them didnt have.
