If you know the history of the Ottomans then you will know that this was a TV historical fiction drama and in that era a boy at 11 or 12 would definitely not be considered a child like today. There is definitely a huge difference between a baby and 10 year old and if you can’t see that you must be one of the people that justifies rude uncouth and bad behaved double digit kids. Mustafa was not mature enough to defend his mother he was just indoctrinated and indulged by his mother and grandmother and they knew he would not survive if his mother left. He was sent with her because of the psychological damage he would suffer but it didn’t apply to Hurrems 3 boys when she was sent away indefinitely. Mehmet was also separated from his mother when he was just over a year old and again when she had the 3 other kids. Mehmet which if you recall was my first comment about the difference between these two boys being separated from their mothers at around the same age and their different responses. For future reference when you start using language and name calling someone for their opinion IMO you have already lost the argument. About the 2 boys fighting Selim and Bayezid being so close in age it’s called sibling rivalry especially in the environment they were being brought up in. When Miramah asked him to help her with the marriage to Rustem I do seem to recall that he was annoyed with her for interfering in his life and also the fact that she was annoyed with her mother and had accepted the marriage and now changed her mind had nothing to do with his maturity… political marriages were regularly made with sultans daughters and at much younger ages. Besides commenting on the series I actually did read some history of this dynasty and era so enjoy !!
