Sultana's death causes the whole empire to grieve in the palace. Everyone in the royal family wears black. The Sultana says farewell to the palace with a glorious ceremony. Sultan Suleiman's grief doesn't fade away on the contrary it was thought. Mahidevran takes over the management of harem completely after the Sultana. Mahidevran even has her eye on the Sultana's suite. However, she doesn't realize she strengthen Hurrem's hand.
Daye is one of the people who grives much for the Sultana's death. She doesn't want to stay at the harem after her death. She tries to build herself a life outside of the palace. However, her guilty feeling follow her everywhere.
Nigar lives under the custody of Gulsah. However, she manages to run away at the first chance.
Hatice goes back to her own palace after the Sultana' died. Hurrem wants to visit her without losing time. Hatice's life turns upside down with the letter she finds.
Delay of the decision about Figani causes a problem. Meanwhile, Ibrahim knows that Figani is his only chance to get to The Master. He personally takes care of his interrogation.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

suleiman's poems for valide sultan after her death and for ibrahim when he almost died when that arrow shot him and his death, will always remain my most favorite in this series. i could literally feel my heart grow heavier with every word. god bless whoever wrote these poems for the show, truly some of the best. in addition i love suleiman's analogy where he calls the world a dream and how this very analogy is continued in the last episode 139, when he passes away saying "i have finally woken up from this dream". his words will stay with me for life, such an immersive perception of life

oh daye hatun, i dont know what to say but this is such a terrible end for someone like her. what eases me is that she followed valide sultan into the other world soon after, wherever they were they're happy and spared of the toxicity of the harem and the palace. i'll miss both of them, they left a void that's hard to fill. y'll will be missed :/ about nehabat and selma, they ATE, no one would've played these characters better than them❤

I wish Hurrem would be more sensitive and compassionate towards mother sultan as she should know mother sultan heart condition is very serious. Hurrem is too outspoken. Mother sultan might live a little longer if Hurrem didn’t storm to the mother sultan bedside and jolting her already very weak heart with sad news about Ibrahim evil

That was the point. Hurrem said what she did because she knew it would kill Valide Sultan. She thought that with her dead, she could talk Suleiman into sending Mahhidevran away with Mustafa and she could rule the harem. But her scheme backfired and she STILL didn’t get control of the harem.

No it gave Valide comfort. Her troubles were relieved. That is why the stone turned black. It was a stone to comfort and receive all troubles. Valide thought she was the only person to know of Ibraham’s treachery and she was hanging on to life because she had unfinished business. She was glad that Hurrem would punish him as he was a traitor to Suleyman’s trust.

Valide Sultana favored Mahidevran and bullied and attacked Hurrem but Hurrem never knew that Valide had given the order for her murder.

Check "Rites and customs of burials, funerals processions in Islam", it might shed some light on an interesting topic and maybe explain why we saw only the men of the family and the entourage taking part in the procession to the burial, women not present at that point. I think is was customary, and probably stil is in many cases. Worth checking then.

I don't understand suleman's justice. He says he the the just person, he will punish the same way the person who commited the crime even though it maybe a family member. But he doesn't. He punished his brother in law with death but he would definitely never would have done that if he was a blood realtive or family member. He would have given some other punishment🙄. Of course he is unjust. He is more merciful towards the people close to him. As many of his family members did many crimes but he chose to overlook it.
