"regradless of which of my sons sit on throne, he can kill his brothers. as scholars and lawmen have deemed it appropriate"?! shameful how a father made that law. how nice, kind and humane it would've been if sultan mehemt had came up with a law for nomination of the heir to the throne? or simply followed what the english did- eldest ascended the throne, unless he abdicated, rather than legalising murdering of the innocent sons of the dynasty. mustafa's relationship with his brothers is unknown, there isn't much evidence to confirm if he loved his brothers or hated them but period drama like such are based and created after heavy research and consultation from historians so if they showed mustafa benevolent and loving towards his siblings, maybe mustafa in real life too was like that. mustafa, atleast in the show would've never killed his siblings. infact i believe he would've reformed that atrocious law. also neither of hurrem's son had a hunger for the throne, except selim maybe. it was hurrem who wanted one of her sons to ascend the throne. mehmet being suleiman's favourite hurt a little. not that he isn't a good prince but mustafa literally did everything to please his father only for suleiman to prefer mehmet over him. i know all of this can't be attributed to the fact that suleiman liked mehmet more because he was hurrem's son, but i believe that must have been a reason too
