Sümbül sees everything as İbrahim's body is taken out of the palace secretly. Hürrem gets waken up in the middle of the night and directly goes to Suleiman. Neither İbrahim exists now nor Suleiman is the person he used to be. She gets aware that nothing will be the same anymore. Matrakçı buries İbrahim's body that no one knows as Suleiman has ordered. He also needs to make a decision about İbrahim's orphan daughter Esma Nur.Nigar arrives in İstanbul. She mourns for İbrahim and looks for her daughter. Meanwhile, Suleiman bears his sorrow and makes new decisions for the state's future. Prince Mustafa returns to the palace and gets dissapointed. He asks his father "why?". Suleiman's answer gives Mustafa a deep shock.
Hürrem takes a quick action to be able to have a voice in the new order that will be built up. However, it's not that easy as Sultana Şah is around watching everything. Hatice gets petrified in sorrow. Only thing in her mind is to take revenge. She finds a hangman for Hürrem with Mahidevran's support.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

ANOTHER EDIT: I finished Kösem and was watching Ertugrul and the subtitled episodes ran out. I appreciate them even more now. I think I have to re-watch from Hürrem again.

I’m truly enjoying some of the mistakes in the subtitles. The male and female pronouns are often reversed. Once a man walked into the council room where Sulayman, Ibrahim and the Viziers were and greeted them with “hello ladies”! Cracked me up. I wondered how he kept his head! Lol

If he betrayed a sultan's daughter, and had a child, he would have been executed. If he went to the sultan's harem to choose a side chick, execution. do you know that in Ottaman's history Ibrahim's executing reason and his grave place is one of the biggest mysteries, no one really knows about the real reason but everyone agreed that his arrogance and greed led him to his own death. and one of the documents Sulieman read in the series was actually true THE REAL IBRAHIM said these things to the ambassadors.

That was the problem with Ibrahim, he spent too much energy over thinking and out maneuver Sulyman. He even put in the historical record that the sultan is a lion and he the lion tamer, how smug and arrogant is that. That was the nail in the coffin, which ultimately caused his death. Before that, Sulyman was hesitant about the execution. You can see him fighting with himself. Ultimately Ibrahim sent himself to his own death, according to this series.

Everyone is against Hurrem, everybody hates her . Those hatred causes a lot of troubles to all ....lots of tears and pain . Hurrem isn't that perfect but as I continue watching she does things to survive and for her children to be alive.

Suleiman’s emotionless stare when Hatice is desperately seeking answers delivers the wrong message. If she was made aware of Ibrahim’s treasonous acts she wouldn’t lay the blame on Hurrem

As Sultan he doesn't have to explain why he killed Ibrahim to anyone especially a woman. He's the supreme ruler and answers to no on but Allah. Everyone showed where their loyalties lay in this episode.

Just my two cents, Suleyman might keep tight lid on why ibrahim is executed bcoz he still want to protect the image of ibrahim. Like suleyman said in prev episode, something along the line my friend i give my heart to you, i wont have it back. So suleyman want to bear the burden of hatred, heartache of ibrahim death in return, ibrahim can keep his image/memory.

He anticipated her reaction so he just stood there and absorbed her recriminations. His decision to execute Ibrahim affected him deeply but he has to remain strong for the sake of the empire and the family.
