After Hurrem gets a hard hit, she challenges her enemies! All the balances get upset suddenly with a message received in the palace. Hurrem both tries to reach to Suleiman and stop Mustafa. She literally has her back to the wall and needs to make a decision. She will either leave her princes' destinies in Mustafa's hands or enthrone her son and shape their destinies on her own. Meanwhile, Sultana Sah takes a quick action with the message they've received. Even if she looks like she's on Hurrem's side, it is obvious that she will support Mustafa. She offers Hurrem to hide the princes in her palace. However, Hurrem doesn't trust her at all. Just the time Hurrem thinks that she's ensured her princes' securities, she gets devastated with the news that Bayezid and Cihangir has abducted. Hurrem gets mad and starts to look for her children. She gets shocked with the thing she sees. Hurrem gets a hard hit and falls into silence. Just as her enemies think that they have won a victory, Hurrem reveals a secret that will set them at odds.
Will Mustafa accede to the throne? What will Hurrem do to stop him? Who abducted the princes? What is the thing that shocked Hurrem? What is the secret Hurrem reveals?
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I am amazed at the genius of the set costume designers. While they tend to go off the rails most of the time with historical accuracy. I LOVE the symbolism they place in the sultana's attire. Shah sultana looked especially lethal when she was confronting Hurrem in the hut. And that is obviously thanks to the outstanding actress and the costume designers who put her in a headpiece that made her look like a Black Mamba serpent. Genius!! Oh...I have one complaint, and maybe it's my ignorance, but why do they make the "witches" look like that?? 😂

While I’m not totally sure on the hierarchy, I doubt that’s accurate either- Hurrem was the head of the harem and Suleiman’s solemnized wife which elevated her status; Mirimah is also of the same dynasty bloodline of the current reigning Sultan, and if anything, that makes her nothing less than equal, if not higher in ranking than Shah Huban.

Most likely it was Firuze, no one else could. She remained alone with Suleiman for years; she could calmly poison him. Nothing stopped her from wearing poisoned clothes, through touching which the poison would reach the Sultan, and she herself could drink the antidote. Or she could quietly apply poison to Suleiman’s personal belongings, even to bed linen. No one could know which Shahzadeh would inherit the throne in the event of the Sultan's death. Everyone had equal rights, so this was not discussed in advance. Whoever managed it sat on the throne

Ibrahim Pasha was the greatest Grand Vizir in the history of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire grew strong and powerful thanks to Ibrahim and not thanks to Suleyman. After Ibrahim death, the Ottoman Empire started to decline because the next Grand Vizirs were either incompetent or corrupted, but especially because Suleyman couldn't care less. He was more interested in spending time with his harem rather than ruling the state. In the end, Suleyman strength and greatness only came from Ibrahim

If I am not mistaken the more sons the sultanas got, the happier the daynasty gets, because that means they have a lot of back up. We all know in those times your were lucky to live past your 20´s. They could not risk loosing all their heirs. However, I think is not mandatory to kill all princes, the sultan can spare his brothers lifes. The problem is that they will not risk their power and head, so for "safety" they prefer to just kill them, speacially if they do not share mothers. That is the thing, is really unsure wether the sultan will have mercy or not. And since we all know Mahidebran, no wonder why all of them got scared by the thought of Mustafa as Sultan.

It wasn't Law per se as much as it was expected and forgiven. At that period of time, in real history brothers turned against brothers when one took over the throne. There was even protocol on how to take their life with the honor and dignity of a prince.
