Safiye Sultana, Sultana of Sultanas, was such a majestic and strong woman in real life. Her actress really brought that regency and power, she may be my favourite actress. She always had such an interesting and complex character i couldnt hate her at all. Her love for power and seemingly no weaknesses or soft spots contradicting all her longing and mourning for her children and her friendship with Bulbul was so well done, well written and well executed. Adored her.

Originates from a region of the world known for its wine and its formidable navy. Had a scheming granddaughter who was killed suddenly. Highly cunning and ruthless and successfully assassinated a monarch(both used poison as weapons). Loved their family members deeply but also used them as disposable pawns to their own ends. Portrayed by extraordinary actresses. Loss family members to another female villain and rival(Kosem is a villain). Both took their own lives via poison.

A wonderful episode 40:28 I like the little reference to Gazanfer Agha. I guess some fans of the old series Magnificent century can remember him as the agha with Venetian origin who served Selim and Nurbanu. Sultana Safiye, the last bridge to the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, was a very interesting character. She was the only character of the main cast that appeared in the last episode of the First Magnificent Century Series. As a young girl given as a present from Sultana Mirhimah to her nephew Sultan Murad III, we could already see how she was struggling with Nurbanu Sultana. Nonetheless, she was already ambitious. At the beginning of this show, she is the matriarch of the Ottoman Dynasty regularly fighting against the favorites of her son, Handan, and Halime. Since she desires to maintain her power and influence during the reign of her grandson Ahmed I., she brought Anastasia to Istanbul, but never realized that she would become her worst enemy. Although she was a cold, ambitious, and power-hungry woman who was ready to go through corpses, we could still observe a few moments when she was emotional and just human. It is very fascinating that she was still living when her great-great-grandson (son of Sultan Osman ) was born.

Wow, Ïskender is dead this time, for real. Osman will be destroyed by the Janissary Camp. Zülfikar had always been loyal to Kösem and finally fulfilled the order to execute Ïskender. I wonder how Prince Mustafa's doing? Poor young man being mentally insane with nobody there to help him. Kösem is putting up a great fight protecting the dynasty/being a leader just like Sultan Ahmed predicted before his death. Safiye Sultan is dying on her own terms!
