My brother in law and sister in law wanted a typewriter after getting some typewritten correspondence from me. I found a Brother Accord 10 for a good price locally and bought it based on your taste for them and others who like the Brothers. Very little use and very clean. It types just fine. The bell is really loud. I don't love it, but it'll be a good, compact, easy to store typewriter for them. I don't think I'm a "Brother" man. Thanks for the video. Very informative.

Interesting! I have my dad's old Brother Accord 12 at home, that he gave me when he heard I started collecting typewriters. You're right, the action is very snappy, but I have some difficulty getting past the looks and the loud plasticky noise. Maybe if I painted it a nice color (perhaps a bright red to match the tab and repeat spacer keys) and stuffed it with some sound insulation, it would appeal more to my taste. Anyway, cool video!

And remember that little Brother still has a soft platen unlike 99% of all other vintage typewriters out there so it will go on producing a nice impression for years to come without having to get a new platen from JJ Short

Great video! I am looking to purchase a typewrite, and have found a Brother Majestic 800. It looks to be in really good condition. But I can't seem to find any information on this model. Are you familiar with it? Is it worth purchasing?

I have the K-Mart 300 and damn, it's a looker! Is yours a firm typer? I suppose it's all relative, but it takes quite a strike over here to type. I do have the setting on "L." I'm just wondering because while it looks SO good and I got the green/black ribbon in the mail from you, I feel like I really have to make an effort and it's not as pleasant of a typing experience -- and maybe I wonder if I should keep it? The "a" and shift are especially firm/feels like higher tension. Thoughts?
