Real life Mihrimah: close to Selim and eventually is appointed by him to the position of Valide sultana Show version Mihrimah: constantly antagonises Selim and openly challenges him without any power and ends up leaving for good without becoming Valide Thanks show 🙄🙄

It doesn't indicate closeness, valide sultan was an important political position, marimah was the most suitable candidate. The benefit was mutual. It granted his government much needed stability and granted her position and relevance.

I'm saying that the authorial favouritism towards Mustafa was to the detriment of the characterisation of the other princes. They should be allowed to stand on their own as characters and not have to exist solely in relation to him. This isn't an attack on Mustafa or an anti-Mustafa point I'm making. @signora11022 жыл бұрын
Cause they hated each other in real life. According to Marcantonio Donini, soon after the “assassination” of Bayezid, Suleyman being informed of Mirhimah’s help to Bayezid just before he moved his army against Selim’s, interrogated his daughter and she confessed that it was her mother’s wish on her death bed. Selim being aware of his mother’s and sister’s favoritism towards Bayezid including Rustem as well, was known not to love nor his brother-in-law, nor his sister nor his mother. Suleyman being of aware the dynamic of his children relationship, was extremely displeased; yet Mirhimah does not seem to be taking note of his majesty’s deception. Selim’s seems to be of a different opinion from Suleyman’s, which stems not as much from the disdain caused by these acts, but the Sultana’s great wealth, which will probably serve him. If Hurrem were still alive, I’m sure no one would have dared to do anything beyond her wrath -Suleiman would not punish Bayezid by sending him to the province of Amasya -Rustem will not dare to suggest Sultan about Bayezid province (He will decide it beforehand with Hurrem Sultan) - Bayezid would not dare to oppose the sultan through rebellion. (If Hurrem Sultan knew, she would not allow her son to do so) - Selim would never have thought to raise his voice to Mihrimah - Nurbanu will probably live in fear of Hurrem Sultan by being her threated, and target ( Hurrem maybe will not kill her, but will ruins her peaceful life)

What is Bayezid thinking?! Although they did this as it is accurate in real life, I still don't understand Bayezid's thought process here. He is nothing like Mustafa, barely anyone would follow him in rebellion against the Sultan. Yes the soldiers prefer him over Selim due to his obvious capabilities as a warrior, but they are more loyal to Suleiman than him, a case different than Mustafa's
@abdulwasay17502 жыл бұрын
Atmaca told him this . Mustafa and bayezid scenario was different. Mustafa's popularity was unmatched . There are few bayezid supporters. He is trying to cash in on mustafa's supporters .
@kayodewa2 жыл бұрын
True Mustapha and Bayazid popularities were unmatched. Mustapha did not have the quality of support Bayazid had and Suleiman knew it. The top echelon of Mustapha father's army were bribed, they in turn fed the lower rank with meat and few coins. Because of whom Bayazid mother was, he liaised with powerful heads of state except the Venetians. A lot of them were prepared to give him asylum. He accepted the Persians. Don't forget they treated him as a royal prince for years until Suleiman gave them the altematum of ransom or war. They took the money and gave Bayazid up. What killed him was that he washed the family dirty linens outside. If he returned home when he got the reply to his letter asking if his father would assassinate and Suleiman said he wouldn't, then he would have lived longer. But he stayed enjoying himself.

@@kayodewa so I guess all those foreign correspondents , ambassadors and observers were lying who praised mustafa left , right and center? I can share all those sources if you'd like me too . How can anyone say mustafa did not have support . I would've believed maybe if you said mustafa had less support than Suleiman but bayezid? Really?
@kayodewa2 жыл бұрын
@@abdulwasay1750 I'm not saying you or they are lying but listen to what you are reading. The same people offered bribe for people to kill Mustapha's great great grandfather for having the tenacity to conquer Constantinople. Selim l faced the east so didn't bother them much. Suleiman on the other hand was burrowing deeper into Europe and was giving them concern. If he could be defamed through his sons all the more better. 'Mustapha's princely harem can be compared to his father's in the capital.' I've paraphrased what the writer said but the meaning is the same. The author must have been one of the invitees to his sancak. Think about it. Suleiman had over a thousand concubines in his harem at any giving time. All Mustapha's sancak could only accommodate between 12 to 20 women at a given time. Hurrem was training the ladies and marrying then to surplus men from the palace school or retired soldiers then sending them back home. They created the Ottomans middle class and loyal subjects this way. How can Mahidevran match this? It's just been discovered that the most popular and favorite MC fan historian cannot use their best selling books in their lecture. Compare that to professor David Bear whose book was taken up before it was publish as a textbook. So I'm not saying anyone was lying but don't just read what's written, listen to it and compare like with like.

Hurrem and Mihirma did their best to make Mahidevran's life miserable. They even got successful by having Mustafa killed at the hands of his father. She died in misery by batteling a long term diseease. She did not die peacefully as she was worried for her Shehzadas. Mahidevra was the real sultana , she did not have wealth but because she had no one to care for she died in peace as she had buried her beloved son in her life. After HUrrem died, her loved ones startin fighting each other.. Mihirma never led a happy married life. She was sick till her death. After her father died, she retured to Old Palace. Bayzeid is so shirt tempered and in later episodes you could see it getting worse.
