If u think that way, u can't survive in the Ottoman dynasty. Mihrimah Sultan had no other choice. Just think about it, if Mustafa becomes the Padishah, the first thing he would do is order the execution of Selim, Bayezid and Cihangir, as his predecessors and successors did. He would also exile Hurrem Sultan. Mihrimah knew that if she becomes sentimental now, then she'd have to see the execution of her 3 own brothers, which she couldn't. @@nirupamasarma4146 It's not about mercy, it's about survival. According to the Ottoman succession rule, any of the Sultan's sons could be the next Sultan. So whoever has more power, will order the execution of others (they have no other choice, even if they want or not). Things won't be the same when he becomes Sultan. At least the new Valide Sultan, that is Mahidevran, would manipulate her son to do so, just as Valide Handan Sultan would do in the future. And secondly, even if he IS merciful, his brothers won't just sit quietly and watch their half brother become the new king. They'd prepare for a war too, ultimately leading to the powerful one to execute the other. So from Mihrimah's point of view, it's easier to see her half brother die, instead of her full blood brothers

What we do know is that there really was a letter sent to Suleiman, a letter which defended Mustafa, saying that the prince was not conspiring with Persians and that this was slander. That means that there was another real/falsified letter that was intercepted, but this letter apparently has not survived in the archives. The ottomans were not good about documenting their history. At any rate, in the fantasy world of the show, Mustafa should never have trusted Hurrem’s daughter.

For people judging and cursing Hurrem and Mihrimah need to refresh their memory cause it seems this fandom has amnesia. Let’s go back to what Mahidervan did to Hurrem, she tried to kill her so many times. She told her if Mustafa ascends the throne that all 5 of her children would be executed. For those defending Mustafa, he threatened Hurrem with her and her children’s lives as well. Hurrem had to protect her children. Even if Mustafa didn’t do anything Mahidervan would never let Hurrem, Mihrimah or the other princes live. The law was clear, once Mustafa becomes a sultan the brothers die this included Mihrimah and Hurrem because of Mustafa’s great hatred for his stepmother. Kosem adopted Osman, raised him as his own and he killed her son. This is why Hurrem had to get rid of Mustafa. She had plenty of good reasons to hate him and his vile mother. And Mihrimah would obviously choose her full blood siblings and mother over a half brother and his snake mother.
