I know that this is fiction and not history but this "love plot" is so silly 😂 Princess Isabella Fortuna wasn't a real person in the 1500s, but if she was, she would be a descendant of "the Most Christian" Queen Isabella of Castille. Queen Isabella and the Muslim Moors had a whole holy war over Spain in the 1400s. Why on earth would a Spanish princess want to throw away her title, status, properties, income, an arranged marriage to a husband who might have a claim to some European throne, etc...to become an enslaved concubine in an Ottoman sultan's harem?? Yes, being a medieval European princess kinda sucked, but this is just silly 😂

I love this show as a visually rich soap opera, but this thumbnail is ironically an accurate summary of the plot. 😂 Magnificent Century is a romp about a toxic relationship between a hot redhead and a sultan... who was never really that into her. 🤷‍♀️ Suleiman (in MC, not history) treats Hurrem like dog water, and is pretty awful to all the other women in his life too. I know, he was a sultan and he could do anything he wanted but... it's hard to believe that any woman would or could ever "love" this guy. 😂

Being in a relationship with a man like Süleyman would drive me crazy 😖 I would absolutely love the flattery and attention from a man like him ;but I wouldn’t be able to compete for the flattery, attention and ultimately power that comes with him. 👎🏾
