The character kosem needs a powerful face now...loving bubbly side is good for little nasia only but when she became kosem...she need to look powerful and old nasia was so sweet for that. That's why! I also felt a little bad but after sometime you will start loving baren too ( kosem/ new nasia)

Yes. Kosem is one of her islamic names. She was also called Mahpeyker. Historians think Kosem was more like some kind of honorific title. Because it translates as guide / leader. But it could also translate into perfect beautiful skin so....who knows how she got it. In the series they start calling her Kosem soon after these scenes. In real life its not exactly known how and why she got the name. But Kosem did become the most common used name.
