Two earthquakes both with a magnitude of 6.3 struck Herat Province, Afghanistan on 7 October 2023. In Herat, at least 25 people were killed, 100 others were injured, many buildings collapsed and dozens of houses were damaged. Four villages in the Zendeh Jan District in were severely damaged. Telephone communications were also lost. Collapsed houses and injuries were also reported in the neighbouring provinces of Badghis and Farah. Landslides were reported.
In Iran, one person in Torbat-e-Jam was injured and minor damage to houses occurred in Taybad.

After Dutch scientist prediction there was several earthquakes in the same region, first one was in Nepal which is at Indian tectonic plate, this one is in western afghanistan which is exist on Euro asian tectonic plate, he was predicting an strong earthquake in Pakistan's most active chaman Fault line.
