I like the trunkline of this magnolia. Ive got several started from seed about the same thickness im planning to clump together. Amazing how much the rootbase actually looks like a hand, it even appears to have knuckles. I've been successful in air layering my star magnolia so if you ever get tired of the "hand" im very confident you could layer the base a several centimetres* up and get a new set of roots, but then again you might get new roots resembling some other sort of appendage 😂

Thanks for the input, was wondering how old do you think this tree is I have if you've had yours from seed and now this thickness be interested to have a kinda estimation on its age, I know there slow growing, but how slow lol 🤷😂

@@gizzygreenfingersMy seedlings might actually be a slight bit thinner than your tree and I think I started them from seed about 5 years ago. But they've all been growing in a flower pot since then so not exactly having been grown to their full potential. So I might guess yours might be about that old.

Where do you get such gorgeous trees? Is this like the same Magnolia that my neighbor has in her side yard thats 40 ft high? I am guessing it will flower? And yes it looks like a really creepy hand! LOL
