We had two HIGHLY bonded male cats for 18+ years. It was so cute to see Bagel and Tuna grooming each other entwined in each others arms ❤❤.

It's just the best; they're the most bonded pair we've ever had and it warms my heart.

Thank you for sharing on the cats they are so sweet! Also imagining your guy getting "little heart eyes" is also absolutely adorable!

You are a natural at this. I love your podcast. You tell great stories and your sweaters are beautiful. I literally feel like I’m knitting in the same room as you. Great history on your cats-my husband and I are big animal lovers. We have a wonderful dog (McLean). Can’t wait to spend more podcast time with you. I will definitely buy your Siroc sock pattern.

LOVE your cat journey. My partner and I had a similar story. I had recently adopted an older cat m15 and my partner lived separately with a crazy energetic kitten. when we moved in together our eldest wasn’t a fan of the kitten’s energy so naturally we had to get a new kitten to ease the tension and it worked out wonderfully!
@meeshyfrazzknits4 ай бұрын
That kitten energy is so intense! I'm so glad to hear it worked out for you as well, introducing new cats can be so tricky but is so great when they get along.

Your cats are adorable! Currently we have only the one cat, a ginger and white girl called Emily. She prefers to be a solo cat so her sister Charlotte (yes, we named them after the Brontë sisters) went to live with our daughter. Emily is an old lady now, and likes to sleep a lot! On the subject of buttons, my favourite place to buy is Textile Garden. They're UK based, but ship worldwide, and are run by Maggie who sources all of the buttons herself. Her collection is amazing, so worth taking a look!

Just found your podcast today and have really enjoyed it. You seem very comfortable in front of the camera, like you’ve been doing this for years rather than weeks. I’m looking forward to future podcasts.

that is so cool story about your cats. my story with cats is... i fell in love with a 5 month old kitten (boy)that was bonded with his 2 y.o. brother (they were rescued wild cats) the kitten was awesome. So we foster a litter of 3kittens (8 week old wild rescued) and kept 2 of them (boy and girl) they survived moving to New Zealand and back to USA. Guantes died very unexpectedly at 10 years and Catito died at 13y.o. lastly Missy died last January, she was 17 y.o I am so envious of people with cats.. I think I need to go and rescue some too.

I made the field day cardigan for a friend recently. It looks nice, but I wish I had gone down a couple of needle sizes for the button band. The button holes looked weird and I had to stitch them to look better. Good luck!

Thanks for letting me know! I just got past the second buttonhole and I've definitely had moments of being worried about the size of the button band.

I often get my buttons online from Textile Garden. I'm not sure what the postage would be for you but they do have a great selection.

If you live in the NW go to Makers Mercantile. They have a huge book of buttons that they will send to you, and you can go to their office and pick them up/check the color, etc… good luck!

I loved the cat intro!! When your using the small circulars to knit socks, do you the. Switch to DPNs for the heel and toe? I’m a new sock knitter and testing methods out!
@meeshyfrazzknits4 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, I typically switch to DPNs about halfway through the heels/toes and that works well for me 😊

I'm considering a cat but I have a lot of plants that are toxic. Bagel is quite the climber.
@meeshyfrazzknits4 ай бұрын
Haha yeah Bagel is the most curious and mischievous cat we've ever had. Since adopting him we've had to move all our plants to the very top of a bookshelf he can't climb, which means we often forget to water them 🫣

What do you do to socialise new cats? I have an older cat and a 5 month kitten, and I’d love to know if you did anything to help them get along
@meeshyfrazzknits4 ай бұрын
When we first brought Tuna home, we gave him his own space for a few days (our guest bedroom) and got him his own toys, litter box, and food/water bowls. Then we let the cats smell/see each other under the door and let them get used to each other's scent. After a couple days, Tuna and Bagel started to paw at each other (playfully, but timidly) under the door. When it felt like they were more comfortable, we allowed them some supervised meeting time to get to see each other, and we had lots of treats and toys for each of them to play with, so they could feel rewarded for spending time together. Luckily they're both very social and playful cats, so that worked out pretty well. Boink was far less interested in going near the door, so personality definitely plays a part! I think the big thing is to just not rush it, and make sure neither one feels threatened. Best of luck with your new kitty!

Great podcast! Too bad about the green cardigan but that's just the way knitting goes. Have you realized how many ads are in your podcast? That can be annoying when it's such a beautiful podcast in all other respects.
