@graytonw52384 ай бұрын
@@nikiyen6 Actually, I figured he it out pretty quick. He knew if he questioned Callihan right away or asked if he knew what he was doing or how to fly that the terrorist would have killed him right there. It wasn't until they had reached the "okay, we can't keep doing this forever" point that he asked Callihan if he could fly, betting there must be some kind of plan. Just my take, anyway.
@delanorrosey47304 ай бұрын
Listen to the engines - he's revving them up, then down, then up while on the runway. The terrorists didn't realize that he was messing with the thrust lever. Taking off requires full thrust and continuing down the runway. The first officer realized Callahan was about to enact his plan, revving up the engines. He knew sooner or later, they'd run out of runway, have to circle back, and they'd know he was never going to take off.

Magnum Force and Dirty Harry epitomized the bad ass cool cop genre. It and the actors who portrayed the character never got any better than this

My favourite actor of all time.... If you like Clint you like Clint and watch every film he has ever made... Only a handful of actors like him...

Correction...nobody like him. Harrison Ford is also good...but no Clint.

One of the best movie lines. "A man's got to know his limitations". I've used that on myself and others for many years.

I don't know why, but the way he asks "How about some cream pie?" always breaks me up.

I can watch these all day. In fact, now I'm gonna go binge. The movies in order. From this scene to the diner where the waitress pours all that sugar in his coffee, I mean, just... they're all classics.

This dude will always be the best. If dialogue ain't needed I'll take Arnie but for this type of roll CLINT will always be the Top of the heap.

As I recall, this was the opening scene to Magnum Force. Let you know you were in for a wild ride. Hal Holbrook was an excellent nemesis here, at the peak of his acting powers, as was Clint.

What always struck me about this scene was the first officer and navigator sitting absolutely still as Callaghan went into action, which is exactly what professionals would do in that circumstance

It's my understanding that The First Officer was the real deal and a very accomplish pilot.
