Some years ago there was a Captain of a 60' Magnum that ran into a Force 10 storm on the Med. He said if it had been any other boat of that size he wouldn't have made it through. Magnums are built to handle very heavy seas.

I believe the 27 is being built at another yard by Ms. Theodoli's son. If you're interested you could contact Magnum and get his number.

What I want to know is: unless each an every Magnum boat is a custom order to a customer's wants/needs why does the company not have ANY estimated pricing for their boats on their website? If they are custom jobs (EVERY boat) then I can understand that but they have models listed. Why not prices?

I wanted to buy one (low hours in Bristol condition) about 20 years ago when looking at yacht brokers in NC, SC and FLA. The price for a new custom build started around $2,000,000 for a smaller one without the fancy triple jet/surface drive propulsion. I didn't bother to ask, but I'd guess from the spec sheet that these are up to $5,000,000 to make... and I have not checked prices lately so add in some cushion. The one I wanted was over $4,000,000 to make new and the wait list for a build was at least 2 years! Needless to say, owning a Magnum is still on my bucket list if you will. We got another boat at a fraction of the price. On the way home we met a Magnum owner and chatted him up. Had dinner in his cockpit admiring the view. The next morning we set out before first light only to be passed by the Magnum before lunch...
