I had just gotten out of the Air Force when Magnum show started at first I did not think I would like it-BUT when it showed vets as human and not some comic book killing machine-as real people with loves-friends-emotions I was hooked. This new comic book Magnum that has come out is a insult to the Vets of that era, believe me we got enough crap every day from so called fellow Americans.

I think it's more of an insult to OEF/OIF vets, since that's what they're being portrayed as. Not to mention the best relationship in the original (Magnum and Higgins) completely destroyed by making Higgins a woman that Magnum winds up rogering. To say nothing of the writing that sounds like it was done by a 6th grade English class. But to your point, one of the many things that made the original what it is was the treatment of vet of your era.

I’m about to turn 27 and I’ve watched this Magnum PI but I haven’t watched the ‘new’ Magnum PI, I have however watched clips and it really does not feel right now I know that the idea isn’t to make it exactly the same but it really does not feel anywhere near the same!

The only REAL Magnum P. I. Tom Selleck ! The reboot is nothing more than actors riding on the coattails of the original shows success. I loved this show as a child and I also loved Magnums 308 Ferrari (well Robin Masters Ferrari)

The reboot is pathetic. Hernandez has no personality, he's rogering the girl Higgins instead of arguing and making deals over estate privileges and the writing seems like it's done in a high school English class. Roger Mosely said it best: There's only one Magnum.

the original Magnum PI shows with Tom Selleck were `heads and shoulders` better than the curret reboot with Jay Fernandez. The origiginal was well written through and through. The casting of actors was better. Was the first TV show to use a Ferrari.....the idea of a PI driving a red Ferrari was original (even if it was not tactically a good idea ..heh)... The reboot made too many changes to the original idea e.g. `Magnum`is now one of the shortest cst members, he works with `Juliette Higgins`, they seasons ago forgot about the `lads`(2 donbermans), tghey forgot about maintaining `robin`s Nest`, they stopped any Iland Hopperéhelicopter flying-stopping that part of `TC`s income--how is he supporting himselfÉÉ heh... they all move like `jason Bourne`and never get a scratch....they don`t even include Robin`s Nest in most episodes...The JP cop works with MagnuméHiggins too much.....and it`s the only TV show that take `time off ...several weeks`mid-season LOL....they did that almost every season...heh...it`s NOT DONE :) I`m glad Tom Sellect wewnt from a hit showéMagnum I to BLue Bloods....two well writtenéacted shows....sadly he`s never gotten good breaks in film....odd...he`s marketable :) Selleck...guess he was known for playing the `good looking nice guy character`....
