the funny thing is it's not the best show of the 80's. Star Trek was, but that's like comparing an acura NSX to an Audi turbo or Mercedes turbodiesel it's so late in the 80's it's basically a different time. Magnum PI fit in right between Roots and Star Trek and then the Simpsons

So well written11 Great character deevlopment. The reboot has NOTHING ont he OG show. Bet Sellect is glad he didn't do the reboot too. :) So many "firsts" in prime time TV series writing, great stunt work e.g. driving and helicopter work. And Magnum didn't't do any Jason Bourne type fight moves.....Selleck's Magnum actually gets hurt every now and then,...bleeds.... What gets me about the reboot is they take "vacatins" during the season. LOL!! Weeks off. NO ONE does that. They also forgot about "the Lads" in the first season mid-way through...no mention of them last lseasn or this season... Casting was spot on too for the OG version of Magnum PI...Sellect being 6.4...kind of a lus and needed for the leading man...in the reboot Magnum is short :)) Doesn't work in TV or film...heh..

That's funny. The roof panel on a Ferrari 308GTS (and for that matter, the 328, 348, 355 and other Ferrari models that have targa tops) do not slide backwards. You have to get out of the car, push the seatbacks forward, and place the panel on the carpeted bulkhead behind the seats. It's as if Magnum had 2 film crew hold it as he drove away... all off-camera, of course.
