luis fernando lacerda No. How avoid the mate? White king is checked by the black queen, cannot move to his round cases (e3 queen, f3 own pawn, g3 bishop, e4 own pawn, f4 queen, g4 black pawn, e5 knight, f5 black pawn, g5 own pawn). The only move : knight d3, but then queen takes, is protected by the knight and that's a checkmate.

The only reason why Carlsen blundered was because of Radjabov's cheap trick of not properly placing his queen inside of the square, hence, made him confused... Plus, the psychological effect of "mistakenly" touching his queen was another great devious trick!!!

As i was watching it, I was expecting Bh8 after Qa1 by Carlsen... but there came the shocking blunder Qa8?? What could be black's defense after Bh8. I don't see any good defensive moves other than Bg5+ for black.
@MrSilencetreatment
@MrSilencetreatment 9 жыл бұрын
I think bishop h8 for Carlsen wins, preventing the black queen to come on c1 for the check mate and threatening check mate on next move with Qg7. Black can cover with pawn, then bishop takes if it covers with knight same, bishop takes. Any thoughts?????
9 жыл бұрын
then black takes on g5 chek, King capture, then black Queen g2, after takes on f3, etc.... that was why Carlsen did not play Bh8 (obviusly he did not see mate on c1 ! xD)

Radjabov casi pierde su dama en el minuto 9:12, pero obviamente lo alcanzó a ver y encontró una variante para dar mate, Carlsen se quedó a una tirada de dar mate con su dama, tremendo final.
