It's not actually difficult to see. It was the first move I thought off before Hess started talking about playing for a draw. It looks dangerous and one of the first moves to consider because it's active. A move earlier you would have been looking at pushing the pawn to block check and so you just put two and two together and see the sequence. He played a much harder move to spot in his game against Vidit when he saw Nxb4 allowing Qf2 is Vidit took back with his knight.....THAT was alien.
