As cool as the gym is... the fact that you gather your neigbbors and you guys workout is even cooler. Immediately tells me so much about you without ever having seen you before. Most people have their own gym so they can be reclusive and not share.. yet you take it as an opportunity to enrich the lives of people around you and strenghten your relationships. Salute. You are giving your kids a fantastic example of what it is like to be a good citizen.

This exactly. Many people (myself kind of included) build their gyms for personal use, and indeed I never wanted to go to the gym, pay a membership fee, follow arcane and arbitrary rules, etc. but I was never greedy or anything. If family or friends came over, they were more than welcome to use it. Love the fact that he's engaging community participation and allowing his neighbourhood to reap the rewards as well. Though, admit it, if you had that beautiful equipment in your house, you'd wanna show it off too. 😝

First off, major respect for creating a better community like that. The equipment selection is really great. A lot of gym tours show that most people just copy other people (which isn't a horrible strategy), but you have some machines that show you put real thought into what you wanted.

Buying Eleiko equipment is very expensive. Eleiko is in Sweden, you live in Southern California, and the main U.S. Eleiko dealer is in Chicago. It takes a SPECIAL PERSON to share your garage gym with your neighbor, and friends. Not a lot of people have the money to join a commercial gym, and building a home/garage/basement gym takes a lot of space, and upfront costs. I started a garage gym with Custom Made Excalibur 304 High Polish Stainless-Steel equipment for over thirty years. My friends/family has the garage keypad code. We are open every day of the year from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. I have made a lot of friends, and friends of friends. I also have grown a lot closer to my extended family.
