For things like the Bug Catching contest in nuzlockes, it is usually a area that is allowed for a catch if its needed for a evolution item. You just release the Pokemon you caught there.

@@DannyRayqu you can get shiny stones within the pokedome on specific days of the week. They're just 3000 BP. So with unlimited time, i think it's fine within new nuzlocke rules to bypass the pokeathlon grinding (since one could theoretically do them infinitely once they get to that point in the game) and just receive the stone as needed.

Gold is one of my favorite protagonists in the Adventures manga simply because of his special skill: Hatcher. Basically he can bring out the best in any baby Pokémon that’s hatched and they also share Gold’s traits. His Togepi is a delinquent gambler who one-shot Lance’s Dragonite and Silver’s Tyranitar with Double-Edge, and his Pichu shares the same hairstyle as he does and learned Volt Tackle upon hatching.

Fun fact : ‘‘Aibo’’ ( Ambipom’s nickname ) directly translates to the word “ Pal “ or “ Partner “ in English. It shows how much Aipom means to Gold in the first place, it was his first Pokémon and his ace too. So…yeah. RIP partner. o7

Gonna make a few notes as I go through to note my reactions or stuff I noticed - Since Gold got Pibu by breeding in the first place, I guess breeding a Pikachu for it would have been fair game, but fair enough :p Not like Pibu would have been a powerhouse anyways. Teddy is understandable though. - As always, I love how you go over the encounters origin and the story of the manga. The manga is some of the coolest stor- WTF IS FREDDY FAZBEAR DOING THERE - Pokemon Legends Jotho when ? - God that police sketch is certainly something. - XP management in Hardcore Nuzlockes with very limited pokemon is always a pain huh. - EZ badges - Quilava is one of the coolest middle stage designs, along with Grovyle (PMD !!!). - Togebo is a fucking terror, remember when that fucker just Double-Edged that Dragonite or the Tyranitar? Good times. - Polibo is indeed a really cool parallel to Red's Poli. - EZ Badges, V2. Never punished. - Never knew about that "ride Pokemon" theory from gen 1, interesting. - Ah, the monkey, monkey do what monkey want. - Lyra ? That's clearly Crystal though :p. - Sunflora is so much stronger in the manga than the games lmao. - Leech Seed carry let's goooo, Sunbo you go my guy 💪. Charm was good too. DOUBLE PERISH SONG FROM METRONOME AYO?? - EZ Badges V3 - Oh god I forgot how large tree sudowoodo was, dang. Alpha Pokemon before they were real I guess. - The enemy only goes for Scary Face until you're slower than it, hence why it stopped. - Nice crit Sudobo - Wow, how lucky, a random Sunstone on the ground! Totally not hacked in! (Don't worry I get it that makes sense :p) - The second you got surf, couldn't you have immediately gone to get the King's Rock? - Mantine sweep let's goooo !! Side note, if you try to do a Golden Boys run with Gold or Black, good luck! That manga cut off only six Gyms deep (Whitney and Chuck) and it barely counts because Black (Silver’s counterpart) was the one who fought the last two leaders. And by fought, I mean Whitney curbstomped him with Steeix in an unofficial battle and his actually official with Chuck’s Gym was against Gold as a substitute Gym Leader… which he also lost. Not as much to work with as with other manga.

In the equivalent part of the Golden Boys manga, Gold and Whitney came across an even bigger Sudowoodo, though it cheated by caking itself in mud to look much bigger than it really was. Once they realized it was a Rock type, the excess mud came off and Sudowoodo turned out to be much smaller before getting caught by Gold.

Did you know? Charizard actually copies Typhlosion stats! It might be a bit hard to believe, but the truth of the matter is the special attack special defense split didn't exist in generation one. As a result the stats of Typhlosion come before Charizard who was retroactively made to have the same stats! (Though maybe GF gave all the gen 1 exclusives new stats first, but in terms of availability, Typhlosion did it first)
