On the Jasmine fight, Sandstorm doesn't increase Steelix's Special Defense. That increase only applies to Rock types, while Steelix is Steel/Ground.

If you wanted your rival to have Cyndaquil, you could have replace Chikorita with Totodile at the starter selection, so that way he the game would have given him Cyndaquil to ‘counter’ your choice.

To be fair about Pokémon Generations isn’t canon, and the pokemon are just generic silhouettes and don’t resemble any known Pokémon anyway. The eeveelutions also share their special abilities as hidden abilities for the legendary beasts. They also have similar specialized stat distribution, just greater as they’re legendaries

it would be cool to have a rom hack that alters certain story moments and dialogue to reflect playing as Silver. Like somehow starting you out on the side if Elm's lab, and for battles like Azalea Town, Gold is already standing in front of Ilex Forest so that you are the one coming from off screen like in the base game

I remember in a previous video you weren't looking forward to Yellow's team, but it's actually not that bad. Pikachu, Raticate, and Butterfree are fine for the early game, and Golem is a Gen I goat, while Dodrio and Omastar hit hard enough to take care of a lot of things. Raticate and Dodrio are also pretty fast and have access to some great STAB moves like Hyper Fang and Drill Peck, and Raticate gets Super Fang as well.

I think I heard somewhere that Raikou is the reincarnation of the thunderbolt that hit the tower in E-City. Entei is the fire that burned the tower. Suicune is the rain that put out the fire. Could be wrong but I'm 85% sure this is the lore.

You actually can catch a Pokémon before Ecruteak City. Then again I don't blame you for not wanting Rival Daniel (who I often pronounce as "denial"), a.k.a. Silver, to catch a Magikarp with an Old Rod. It IS a pain to train and I like the Red Gyarados better.

@magnuspkmn Oddly enough, Sunbo carried quite a bit of weight in my run. Since her Sp Atk is naturally legendary, I EV trained her on Geodude & Tentacool for Def & Sp Def, & turned her into a competent Leech Seed staller. B/c of her abysmal Spe, she could hold a zoom lens from the game corner for 96% accurate Leech Seeds on almost everything & use mega drain (later Giga Drain) while holding a Shell Bell in between turns of Protect to slowly drain the health of pokemon I didn't have any real answers to
