since the story can't be linked at the moment, ill just guess: at the start, we see shrikeheart dead and dawningstar pissed at reedwhisker. I'm assuming dawningstar thinks reedwhisker murdered shrikeheart, or reedwhisker killed shrikeheart in self defense and dawningstar believes he killed her for no reason. furious, dawningstar kills reedwhisker and goes on as leader. what dawningstar didn't know, was that wildstar witnessed it. dawningstar returns back to camp, while wildstar follows to confront her. wildstar confronts her in her den, seeming to either want to take one of her lives or force her to step down from leader. dawningstar, again quite angry, accepts the challenge. she wins. shrikehearts ghost appears and wildstar is shocked, and now that wildstar knows dawningstars secret, dawningstar needs some way to keep his mouth shut.

I think Strikeheart might have been sort of like how Mapleshade was to Crookedstar. He was in the dark forest, and tried to get Dawningstar to join as well, making him a bit of a mentor role. When he was killed, he went to the dark forest, and at the end posessed Dawningstar like how Ashfur did with Brambledstar

-We see a cut of Dawningstar, Wildstar and Shrikeheart’s eyes. Shrikeheart’s eyes have a symbol with a crack in it. It is vague enough to be multiple things but I personally believe it is a lamb. -Shrikeheart appears to have died by the beginning of the story. Shrike has a surprised express but two wounds, one on her flank implying she did not expect to be killed or was surprised by the killer. It is evident someone killed her as the frame which shows her body has bloody paw prints above it meaning it was another cat. -We then see a shot of Dawningstar looking slightly surprised and then angry. This is likely where Dawningstar discovered the crime scene or found out about the crime. Dawningstar likely has some connection to Shrikeheart that would cause Dawningstar to seek revenge later on. -We then see Dawningstar and Reedwhisker head-bobbing to the beat. Dawningstar is angry and Reedwhisker looks nervous and uncomfortable. This is likely the start of their confrontation. Between this and the next scene we see a shot of Shrike’s head with a blank expression. -We then see the muzzles of Reedwhisker and Dawningstar in the foreground and Wildstar in the background, behind a bush. It is unknown if the diamond on Wildstar’s head is a leader mark so we do not know if he is leader at the time. Dawningstar is clearly yelling at Reedwhisker who seems to be talking. They at a river meaning this is likely a clan border. If Dawningstar and Reedwhisker are part of the same clan, Dawningstar likely took them out here to yell at them -Dawningstar then pushes Reedwhisker in the river and damages Reed’s eye. Reed stands up before cowering down. -We then see shots of Dawningstar’s teeth and blood implying Reedwhisker did not put up much resistance. I’m too tired to mention the rest but I’m pretty sure Dawningstar is being manipulated by Shrikeheart’s ghost. I’m guessing Shrikeheart may have trained Dawningstar similar to the canon books dark forest but it is unknown where Shrikeheart resides due to conflicting imagery (constellation mane, red/black eyes). Shrikeheart may be trying to get revenge on Reedwhisker or someone related and using Dawningstar as a means to the end. As Reedwhisker doesn’t show many signs of fighting back it means they feel some guilt or responsibility for the incident, meaning that they may not have saved Shrikeheart or inadvertently or purposely caused her death for whatever reason. Another possibility is Reedwhisker is a medicine cat with limited fighting experience and therefore would have inadvertently caused Shrike’s death. But thats just my theory.

EDIT: So I realised that my comment is similar to sugarr peach. I did NOT steal their idea. It was simply a coincidence. I have no idea why but it just is. I did not even read the comment. So yes, a coincidence I'll guess the story. Shrikeheart was killed by Reedwhisker and she must be Dawningstar's relative, friend. So dawningstar wanted revenge and killed Reedwhisker. Wildstar saw it and, Surprise, Surprise, Reedwhisker is the leader (judging how Dawningstar is on a log in 1:17) Now that Dawningstar killed Reedwhisker, he is now a leader. Wildstar wanted revenge and went into Dawningstar's den, She fought him/her for a while, and then the soul/spirit of Shrikeheart posessed Dawningstar and the screen cuts to black.
