Villa beat us 3-1 two weeks before we played them in the League cup, they weren’t some chump team. it’s also the same team with a few additions from villa that ended up 4th this year. Let’s not act like they were chumps. Newcastle were a very strong side, yes they were missing their best player but if we can’t use that as an excuse for Man United I don’t want to hear it as an excuse for Newcastle. Lastly, you can only beat who’s in front of you. The year before EtH arrived we got knocked out of the FA cup by Middlesbrough, so let’s not act like that squad of United Players are above getting slapped by lesser teams. He won the league cup because he beat the teams in the competition at every stage, fair and square.

@@aurynwestwield1682 again not doubting this at all, but he beat the teams he faced. That’s credit to the players and the manager. We’re not acting like he beat Real Madrid in the champions league final, we’re just saying good job you won United their first trophy in 5 years and you finished top four in the same season which hasn’t been done at United since Since SAF retired. Simple. You can say you don’t think he’s good enough without reducing what he did in his first season to a lucky cup run and a lucky league run (a year after we finished with our lowest points total in the premier league). You can also say he’s had a terrible second season without reducing his first season to luck. Again remember that a year before he won the league cup, half the players in that same United side got knocked out of the FA cup by MIDDLESBROUGH. So yeah you can get an easy path to the trophy and still fumble your chance, so he at least deserves credit for doing his job well in the first season.
