I'm with you, Wolf, on just about everything. You can switch how the things are ordered on your bars if you don't like the current setup. Just fit the controller between the grip & the brake to bring it closer to your thumb, instead of the other way around. (I have a throttle betwwen my grip & brake on 1 side & a bell between the grip & brake on the other side.) Great seeing you spread the e-bike love. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't still be riding, if not for e-bikes.

Have to get Wolfman some of the helicopter tape/3M frame protector tape for that he relaxes a bit more about his bike. The Tick is a Diva, acting like a chef that refuses to provide salt and pepper because his food is perfect when it needs seasoning. There's something about watching Wolfman slow rolling through mountain bike trails that brings a smile to my face.

I got my first dropper post in 2013. It changed the way i ride. Up to that point, with a quick release, i would only drop the seat when i knew a long down hill stretch was ahead. With a dropper, i continuously raise and lower the seat as i ride. A game changer for me, right up there with air shocks and forks, hydraulic disk breaks, and 1x drive trains.

15:32 I agree with everything Wolfman said. The dropper is nice on gnarly stuff, but not nervelessly super gnarly stuff, getting over an obstacle or up a half meter drop, it's handy and of course jumps, pump track, and berms, sharp turns, steep terrain. I ride stuff that is somewhere between 45 deg to 80deg steep rock rollers, so if you try with saddle up you are crazy. Some might think I'm crazy just for riding that stuff. I rarely drop it down a tad, I usually have it at the top and slam it down when I need to ride steeps and gnar, end rough terrain. The dropper seems to be way too slow. If you want a super fast one, and a nice clunk to let you know it's at the top, and super light lever action, I recommend BikeYoke Revive 2.0, But it's not cheap. But I got the 213mm travel version, which is max my bike can do. If you don't mind less travel and heavier lever action, Bike Yoke Divine 185mm is nice. I've also tried it.

You will find that it sometimes helps in climbing to lower the seat a small amount also. It takes some time to learn the timing and spots on the trail that best fit for using it. For example when you rode off the rock/wood feature the rear of the bike kicked up and the seat almost hit you in the a$$ which could cause an incident. With the dropper down this would have been a non issue. As always another entertaining video, keep up the good work.

I’m with Wolfman on the necessity of the dropper. That said, on extreme downhills where you need to shift your body weight back, lowering the seat helps. I also like how easy it makes it to get on and off the bike when my legs are rubber from riding too hard.

7:10 I recommend to mark the position with a 5B pencil, it's stealth from a distance, but stays on well, even after washing the bike, and is not permanent, but easy to see up close. I prefer this over what some pros do with permanent marker.

12:01 With my bad back this actually makes a massive difference, if my back is misaligned and it hurts to move like this, not having to do this helps. But this rarely happen, but if I'm bad I don't ride, but if I'm already out on a ride, it's handy.

The dropper makes mtb's way safer. Having the ability to plant your feet, scoot back, and lean the bike while standing makes the dropper a huge improvement to taller top bar framed bikes and any bike w 27.5 or 29's.

12:52 I agree, the lever has to be further in. But sometimes there is no right way, sometimes a remote has to be where the brakes are, which makes fit impossible. But instead of arguing you should test things out. But yes, if possible moving the ebike remote to the right side might work. But I don't know.

I'd like to see a dropper post with two levers, an up lever and a down lever. A click on the up lever would let the seat go up 5mm and a long push would let the seat go all the way up. A click on the down lever would let the seat go down 5mm and a long push would let the seat go all the way down.

I always thought the dropper would be best for steep descents or jumps, and since wolfman isn't doing that right now it's just not as necessary. I am old school and just get off the back of the seat or lower the seat at the top of big hills.

5:06 These look like chamois boxers. So meant to wear underneath. If they are actually meant to be ridden without, they are weirdly short. I wear Poc Chamois boxer, fit is like a regular boxer, but has a chamois in it. I wait and buy them on sale, as shops keep better stock of these it seems, so get them on sale. I recommend to avoid Chamois and shorts combo, sometimes one won't fit. So always buy separately.

I actually got a women's Brooks leather B17S saddle. I went with the women's saddle because I have wider sit bones and the women's saddle is like 10mm wider and also because honestly the men's B17 saddle just looks big and clunky and kind of ugly and wouldn't look right on a mountain bike. This B17S looks awesome and is pretty comfy although I'm still breaking it in so it hasn't molded to my but shape yet, lol. On another note are you guys going to do a viewer's rides any time soon. I'm officially done with upgrading and changing parts for a good color scheme on my GT Aggressor Pro and I'd love to see what you guys think of it.

I'm with wolfman, I think the dropper is not necessary but it convenient. A good, fit, strong rider can do most just by lowering few inches of the optimal seatpost height for climbing and have space for maneuvering for descents. Too bad I'm fat, heavy and unskilled, that why 5 out of 7 of may bike have dropper post 😅😅😅

Wolfman you arejust old-school and is stubborn as hell. You have trouble admiting the benifits of a dropper post and the significant advantage over a bike with a ridged post. Wolfman...getting on and off a bike is alot easier (especially for you because your not as flexible) since you can drop the seat down and then raise it to pedal height. Also I know you aren't gonna go on anything too rowdy but even on small drops or ruffer sections, having the seat low and out of the way gives more control and less of a chance for your seat to bang your butt. A dropper for any trail ride is Night and day. However if you are just cruising on a gravel road or smooth bike path...then No a dropper isn't necessary. Once you go off road, then a dropper is beneficial. You just have to stop being stubborn and accept the fact that a dropper is alot better in so many ways. Honestly i think you just have more of an issue admitting that Jeremiah is right.

A lot of people that don't know me feel the same as you, but I don't have a problem admitting when I'm wrong. This is not one of those situations, though. Make sure you listen to the truck portion again. I share my feelings about droppers and my experience with this dropper. I will revisit this topic soon, either in a podcast or while we are in the truck. I'm not saying that I'm not stubborn, but I definitely don't have a problem with changing my opinion on things. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate it when people participate in our silly arguments and opinions.👍🏼

Wolfman...don't get me wrong. You're awesome. I love your personality of no BS and sticking to your opinion. You are correct of course it's not necessary. An air fork and rear shock isn't necessary, but it does benifit when it comes to mount biking. Just like you said having to adjust the seat give you that extra clearance...that's the beauty of the dropper. Clearance...and it did help when biking. Sorry I hope I didn't offend you by calling you stubborn because I'm the same way. Love you guys. Last point tho...the more you ride with the dropper and get used to the functions and when to drop the post. You will realize that you cannot got back to a ridged seat post. Respect to you Wolf man and Tick.

What a whiner! I will NEVER ride without a dropper again. Obvious advantage on trail. But in town…I lower the seat at intersections making it very safe to stop and start. Also allows different seat heights for different looks for the leg and back. The dropper doesn’t HAVE to be used, but when you need it, really nice. Again, what a whiner!

9 minutes in, and I want to smack Wolfman. If you're not happy with the brake position, SAY that and tick can move it for you. He didn't take up space he just added something totally not involved with your brake placement. Lol Loved the episode but ffs Wolfman is stubborn. Geez I'm 54 and 6ft4. Of course dropper posts are good, if you got legs they are better period lol. Needed no but incredibly functional. Electric is a meh thing. High quality droppers meh, they are faster less upkeep but the lower priced units do the job. Get that saddle in the right spot, constantly adjusting as needed to make for the most comfy seating
