PSA: Unlike vanilla Cold Waters, Dotmod differentiates between enemy merchants and neutral merchants, regardless of the flags displayed. If the merchant's marker is blue, it's a valid target and can freely be sunk for tonnage/prestige. Green markers are no-shoot civilian vessels.

Love the series coming back. Couple things. In the beginning when you couldn't see the surface ships, that was probably because you were looking at your own bearing rather than the contact's bearing. And when you had the parallel torpedoes but couldn't get the camera to switch, I think you just need to double click. And while probably a moot point as clearly shown, the Tango's should be a surprising threat until they need to run away. They are a development of an old design, but they have (if Wikipedia is anything to go by) the same sonar as the Delta III.

Haha you got it, I didn’t realise at first and thought it was the horizon (given the height of the ship, they should have just dropped below it at that range anyway). But not much help looking directly south 😂

i think you didnt see the merchants on periscope because they are on about a 135 radial and you were looking at 180 and 360.

When your targets are below it, wouldn't it be better to launch torpedoes above the surface duct so they're even harder to detect, or am I misremembering how that works? On those last 2 subs, I probably would have ran the torpedoes even farther SW before turning them SE; somewhere around a point where their turn point creates a line between them and the 2 subs, or wait till they were picked up by the Foxtrot. Probably overly cautious about the counter-fire, but that's what I generally do. Thanks for another great video.

No you are correct, ideally I should have jumped above the layer, fired the torps and then ducked back below the layer to listen for the boats. That was actually rather sloppy of me and I should be more careful about that.

That marks where they will be if they maintain course and speed. I am not sure of the time factor used.

I think it depends on the weapon you select, in the sixties campaign you need to fire unguided torps on that marker and if they follow the same course and speed you will hit them

The trawlers with a mast height of 11.5M/37.7FT dip below the horizon at: 13.2KYDS/7.5Miles/12.7KM (Including various measurements systems for whatever flavour you all love) Edit: Despite all of that you looked at your own course haha! I already prefer it over epic mod. The AI improvements alone make it better, rather than just increasing the performance of the enemy's weapons they seem to have completely overhauled the combat logic for the AI so it behaves much more as you do as the player, It's the correct way of doing dofficulty. The map and mission systems layout is better as well, still getting used to the crew proficiencies systems but they seem to function as I would expect so I have no real complaints. Not sure that I would change anything so far, I've very much been enjoying the mod.

Yep, Pretty sure I mentioned that. It's why I retracted the towed array before starting my port turn as turning to port would pull the array across the screw.
