@@Tonci87 Yes, I've done a full Epic mod series, played a few non youtube runs at it as well and overall I wasn't impressed. Dotmod however has very much impressed me already, The AI improvements alone make it a better mod.

Magz, an update from the encounter with Black Widow and the Bounty Hunter on Battletech, I was in a shit spot first go, but second go, my lance went to the left and up a small hill were there was a big rock where my lance hid behind while the Black Widow and Bounty Hunter fight each other, then after about 3 rounds I started to attack the Black widow and Bounty Hunter lances, Widow had an AHNIALATOR and the bounty hunter had an ATLAS, I managed to kill the AHNIALATOR in the head so free mech but Medusa in the Bull Shark got the CT of the ATLAS so damn it, at least I got 1 assault, happy about that.

I would have put out a couple un-wired torps in the direction of Kiev and the escorts toward the beginning when they hadn't detected you and started running yet. A bit of a long shot, but they could have closed enough before detection that Kiev would still be in range when she started running, and if the escorts didn't eat them, potentially cripple her for an easy kill later after you've dealt with the escorts.

It’s easy. Download the mod, unzip it, run the installer, follow the instructions.

As steave said it's really that simple. The mod comes with it's own self installer, you just need to follow the instruction notes that coem with it to direct it to your Cold waters install and activate it. The mod does the rest.

If not for the Victor III's yes, and that's what I would have done but the Vics where already on the very edge of being able to detect me, there is no way I could have gotten any closer without being fired on with both of them banging away on active.

I don't get why you didn't 1.attack all ships at once at the beginning, going flank speed in Kiev's direction (doesn't matter if you lose the wires, goal is to keep escort occupied) + Kiev with missiles and once Kiev sunk (and some of escort, probably) 2. get to ultraquiet, send moss and deal with what remains ?

I play surface ships on elite . Was in a modernised ticon and got a similar mission t0 this and ran into 2 kirovs , escorted by 2 sovermenys and a uldalyoi , this made the mission really dumb as all I could do was try and shoot down all the incoming weapons and then close and use better gun range . Absolutely cancer , also playing in the sturgeon takes balls mate and yours seem to be huge.

Unfortunetly the cold waters soundtrack is rather short, it only has four combat tracks that it loops between. Needed somthing to extend that for a video this long so I tried to put the Battletech tracks in the combat sections to mix it up.

@@baykazdal Oh that is absolutely under copyright and would get the whole video yeeted off youtube in about a second. Any music you have heard in a movie, TV show, Ad or on the radio no matter how short is under copyright and will get flagged. Half the music on the copyright free sites is also under disputed copyright, it's why I use game soundtracks. The developers tend to wave rights to their own in house game music so it can be used on KZbin as it serves as free advertising.

Question. Have you thought using the periscope to identify surface ships, from a distance?

I think the periscope can quickly be detected by radar, leading to anti-submarine helicopters dropping several gifts on top of you in short order.

@HerraTohtori is correct, in 1985 radar on surface ships (especally sub hunters like these) is not only good enough to pick up the periscope but accurate enough to instanly pinpoint the exact location of your submarine for every single hostile surface ship with an anti sub weapon for about 50nm... So unless you are looking to get your sub sunk and your whole crew killed it's generally a bad idea. Also, just so you know. Due to the waves on the surface and the curvature in the earth the Periscope is actually the shorter ranged visual identification option. You can ID ships from a longer range while submerged. . . that's what the towed array is for.

It's realistic that a carrier would run like hell at even the rumor of a submarine; and you just wiped out her entire escort fleet. Damn right she's gonna gonna run. The part that isn't realistic is sending just one outdated piece of shit to take down a HVT like Kiev. I think that mod fucked you over harder than the game's stupid mechanic of only ever sending a lone sub.
