Hi Dibakar, It's one of the very unique query I saw in my channel and surely I will clarify this for you.🤗 Firstly OMR and Mahabalipuram are not same. OMR (Old Mahabalipuram Road) and ECR (East Coast Road) are two parallel stretch of roads which connects Chennai and Mahabalipuram. You can use any one of the road to reach from Chennai to Mahabalipuram and vice versa. Secondly from Greams road to OMR there are plenty of options. "Tidel Park" is the main landmark from where the OMR road actually starts. So from Greams road you can walk a little bit and come down to any nearest bus stop of mount road, and then ask for any buses which passes via tidel park area or nearby or goes to Trivanmayur, Siruseri etc. People will guide you with the exact bus which goes that way. Or you can specifications tell the exact location in OMR where you want to go. Then I can guide you with exact bus number, metro, sharing vehicles or any other budget option. Yes Gagan ji, There are local, express and many more trains between CGL and MAS, but not recommending to go till CGL because it will be little confusing for new people who are coming from north india or some other part. So for them the best option is to take a direct bus from Chennai to Mahabalipuram. I think its the most easiest, simplest and convenient option for any new traveller. Hi Shubhada, Surely I will help you in this but at first thank you for liking my videos..🙂 So it's very simple. The best option to reach Villupuram from Pondicherry is to take a bus from Pondicherry bus depot. There are many inter-state buses which goes to many places via Villupuram, you can board any one of them and it will drop you near Villupuram station in I think one and half hour to two hours max. Another best option is to go via train from Pondicherry railway station to Villupuram. But I am considering it as a second option for you because train frequency from pondicherry are very less and also they are at specific time. whereas you will get bus in every 5 minutes. (Don't take private buses. Take only goverment bus. Also there are many buses which goes to Chennai via Villupuram route. You can ask there and take those buses also. Hi Mani, Surely I will help you with this.. Budget hotel options (for solo travelers) will be to stay near mahabalipuram bus stand. You can get few hotels in its surrounding. I am mentioning few of them. You can check that:- Vinodhara Guest House. Rajalakshmi Guest House. Hotel Lakshmi Cottages. Rainbow Guest House. Also I am mentioning some hotel options in mahabalipuram and ECR beach areas, which will be a good option in 2k range :- Nirvana Boutique Hotel Vilasam Hotel Spago Inn Hotel Mamalla Inn Hotel I don't have any direct contact details for the hotels, but you can check on net and get the contact details or just book online. For these buses there is no online ticket required. Buses are available every 30 minutes during morning and afternoon hours. So just sit on the bus and pay cash to the bus conductor and get the ticket. And regarding the platform number, I don't remember it exactly. But not to worry. Just after reaching CMBT ask any driver or official staff that you want to board 188 bus for pondicherry, and anybody will guide you to the exact place. Hi Fathima, Good Question.. In my video I explained about metro rail travel. But if you want to go by local train from Central to Guindy, then you have to go to park station and take a local train towards Tambaram or Chengalpettu. And in 25 minutes you will reach Guindy local train station. Both metro and rly. stations are next to each other in Guindy. So from there also you can catch the Mahabalipuram bus very easily. Metro ticket is 30 rupees and local train ticket is 5 rupees. But I didn't mention local train travel in my video because its just 25 rupees difference and the local station is at a little distance from Central. You have to walk for 200 to 300 meters. And the over bridges in Park station as well as Guindy railway station don't have escalators. So if you have luggage, it can be frustrating for you. Thank you 🙂

Many hotels are there, but nothing will be budgeted. Basic hotels in these areas will start from atleast 2k or more.. some of them are like Hotel beebiz Guindy or Hotel NK courtyard etc... So best option is to take a direct metro and travel for just 25 min and reach Chennai Central and take hotel near Chennai Central, where you will get good hotels starting from 750 to 800 rupees range. And in Centra area if you are ready to pay 2k for your stay, then you will get very good hotel. Thank you 😊👍🏼

The metro station where you have to get down to catch the bus is called "CMBT metro" Please note that there is also a metro station before this which is called "koyambedu metro" so please don't get down there. You have to get down at CMBT. 2. This is called the green line metro. In Chennai Central you have basement 1 and basement 2. So you have to go to basement 1 and catch any metro starting from platform 3 and 4. (You can also take the blue line from central metro basement 2 - platform 5, and get down at Guindy. It will be easier and faster for you. And seats will also be there in the bus. These buses never get full till Guindy. Only at trivanmiyur they get full. Thank you 😊👍🏼

Yes both MGR central and Chennai Central are the same. No need to get confuse. And for going vr mall, take green line from central metro (platform 3 or 4) and get down at CMBT metro (Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. J. Jayalalithaa CMBT metro station) And from there the mall is just 400 to 500 meters. So if you can walk it's fine. Or else just take any bus from there which is going towards VR. And it will drop you at VR in just less than 1 minute. (By the way in Chennai all ordinary category of MTC city buses are having free rides for ladies) so just enjoy and take buses if you all are traveling as a group of ladies 😊👍

Hello Ruhi, Currently as per my knowledge there is no cloakroom facility or any other similar option for keeping luggage in Mahabalipuram. But What you can do is, just go to some small lodge or guest houses near Mahabalipuram bus stand area and pay them some 100 to 200 rupees and request them that you don't want any room. Just you want to keep your luggage. So I think they will easily keep your luggage in reception area itself for few hours when they get 100 to 200 rupees just for this. (Don't keep any valuable items in luggage. carry it with you.) For your convenience I am giving some link of small guest houses nearby. Just check in these places. Surely some lodge people will help you in this. Hi Samvit, Yes you can carry a suitcase and rucksack in these buses. And as per rule there is a luggage charge for big boxes and all. But for suitcases or personal items they generally don't charge. They will catch you only when they see some commercial luggage like something in a cartoon box or if any heavy equipment making sound in your suitcase box.😉 So if they ask what's in the box, then just tell them that it's your personal item like clothes and other stuff, then they will not change. Hi, Generally there is no stopping for 188 at Muttukadu. But sometime when bus is very empty, then they stop at Muttukadu if they see passanger there. So best option is, when you are boarding from Chennai, just request the conductor for stopping at Muttukadu and if he assures you, then only board and purchase ticket. Hi Sourav, The best way to reach Kanchipuram from Mahabalipuram is via bus. There are few direct public and private buses, which runs between Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. If you get those buses then fine otherwise there are plenty of bus which runs between Mahabalipuram and chengalpattu, catch one of those and again from chengalpattu bus depo (same place where your first bus drops) you will get plenty of buses till Kanchipuram. All these buses are not so crowded and you will be travelling from end to end destinations, so you will get proper seats also. But as you mentioned that you are travelling with your parents, so just discuss with them once and see if there comfortable with this or not, and then proceed. Or else the second option is to hire a cab from any travel agent in Mahabalipuram or by renting a one way outstation cab from ola or uber. Mahabalipuram to Kanchipuram is approximately 60 to 70 km. So it will take approximately 1.5 hours by car and will cost you approximately around 1200 to 1500 rupees (minimum). Hope now you are clear with this part of your query. Happily completed mahabalipuram my trip I took the Bus no188 East coast road route from guindy while coming back they go to city main bus stop called koyambedu bus stop you can go to any place in chennai city hardly 21₹ ticket mahabalipuram inside local buses from ECR bus Stop are frequent in this place to reach the shore temple and other monuments really beaches are clean well maintained temperature is high as it was noon exactly when I went to beach and visited all the temples ticket is also 40₹ and light house old one and new one was good and light house Museum is perfect but dint visit sea shell museum also tiger cave i couldn't Visit as it was very short trip all comfortably anyone can vist Thank you i finished solo trip no confusion

Hi Supriya, There is no further suggestion. The hotel you selected is one of the best budget hotel in Mahabalipuram town under around 1.5 k. Ramakrishna hotel is also at almost walkable distance from all sightseeing places and beach. Only one suggestion. The beach area attached to this hotel is OK but mostly engaged with fisherman boats, nets, and all fishing realted activities. So it may not be much appealing or scenic. So you can walk 500 to 800 meters towards north of ECR beach to get a very good beach view. Thank you Supriya ☺️
