This version of Mahabharata was so very philosophical. The BR Chopra Mahabharat was very factual. It didn't dramatise the sentimental or emotional moments of the story. So BR Chopra Mahabharat maybe very authentic, it still felt more like a documentary. Swastik house Mahabharat had that gut wrenching drama that made it engaging for the audience, made the viewer feel the mental agony of all the characters. And my goodness, their Hindi dialogues were even better and purer than BR Chopra version. They managed to imbibe the philosohphy with modern values using extremely sanskritised Hindi. And yes- humari youth ko samajh aati hai wo Hindi. Hum isi tarah ke shows se hi to naye aur klishth shabd seekhte hain... Edit: Now as many people have pointed out BR Chopra had faked many things which most people don't know about and it can hurt many fans' sentiments. Since I have read the entire Mahabharata for writing my novels, here are some incidents I would like to mention that the BR Chopra Mahabharata got wrong but the Swastik house version got right: 1. Karna was never cursed by Parshurama. When Parshurama found out Karna had lied about his caste to study under him, he was disappointed but he never cursed him. He only said, "studying to fulfil some other motive never comes to use at the precise moment of need." 2. Draupadi never said "Andhe ka putra andha". That was a comment passed by Draupadi's maid and Duryodhan mistook it for her. 3. Dhritarashtra was not a helpless blind man, unable to control his son's ill-temper. Dhritarashtra was an enabler. He was equally wretched and evil at heart. He was actually very happy when he heard that the Pandavas were killed in a fire at Lakshagriha, although he wasn't the part of the conspiracy. What both shows did not show: 1. Krishna acquired Sudarshan Chakra from Agnidev at Khandavprastha. He and Arjun were approched by Agni Dev who wanted to consume the forest and all its creatures inside, but was always stopped by Indra Dev. Arjun said he would need proper weapons and swift chariots for the task. Arjun and Krishna were basically chilling with their wives at the jungle when this happened. Thats when Agni dev gave Arjun his Gandiva, and gave Krishna a Sudarshan Chakra. He also gave Arjun the chariot of Chandra Dev so he could circle the forest and shoot all the escaping birds and animals. Krishna stood on the other side of the jungle and slaughtered all the demons and rakshasas that were escaping. 2. After Keechak vadh, Draupadi was punished again by the townsfolk. Keechak's followers tied Draupadi to a pole and were about to burn her alive when Bheem appeared to save her. He uprooted a giant tree and beat hundred people to death. He rescued Draupadi from a literal witch-burning incident. 3. Karn had two wives. His first son Vrishasena was so powerful that he defeated Nakul and Bheem together. Bheem was afraid of Vrishasena and he called for Arjun's help. To avenge Abhimanyu's death, Arjun brutallu killed Vrishasena right before Karna's eyes, even challenging him out loud to protect his son if he could. Vrishasena was killed on the 17th day of the war, which finally triggered Karna to fight with Arjun seriously. His death happened shortly after.

Technical point of view br chopra mahabharat was better Br chopra mahabharat gave importance to every characters But serial was good bc of its music and shri krishna casting and also it didnt mislead like other serials radha krishna and surya putra karn which made on fantasy. But there are problems This mahabharat was mainly focused on karna, krishna, arjun and dropadi. Inaccurate dropadi swayamvar, inaccurate abhimanyu vadh, inaccurate karna vadh, no virat yudh, no gandhrav yudh, no kandav dahan. Kripacharya, satyaki, didnt existed in this mahabharat. Many misconceptions of mahabharat were started with this serial And bhagwan krishna stopped time only once before mahabharat yudh to give knowledge of geeta but serial literally shows shri krishna stopped the tie 4 times Also ashwatthama shown weak and coward but if u read authentic mahabharat ashwatthama shown same brave as karna and arjun He was only one who have narayanastra and brahmashir after guru dron

Agreed.but both the shows have shown many fake stories which have misguided youth about many characters. I feel most bad about draupadi. Show makers have created stories like Andhe ka Putra andha to ruin her character and Justify actions of male character. Even I didn't liked draupadi after watching BR Chopra s MB. But after researching about original MB draupadi became my favourite character.

The major portion of shooting is done in Studio near Dahanu Rd. ( in Maharashtra) OR Umergaon ( in gujrat) as this studio almost lie at the boundary of these two states. This studio is not so famous but is kept just in front of beach hence that beach is also seen in the serial in multiple scenes throught and the whole climax.
