Yes it is. You can see every thing in Mahabharata just like We see lord Krishna in its Celestial form where we can see entire universe in his single form. I have watched many times but still I can't found that story is old. Normally film scripts became old with passage of time but epics remain ever fresh each time

I agree. It would be hard for people unfamiliar with The Mahabharata to follow all the characters and storylines, BUT it could be done. It would have a wider audience if it were in English though. Peter Brooks made a very nice adaptation of The Mahabharata in 1989, so it is possible. I believe the most important part would be to get the best actors in the world to play the roles. The Brooks version succeeded because the actors were all excellent. The cast was pretty cool because they were from all over the world. In theory, this makes sense because The Mahabharata is supposed to be a foundation story of humanity, not just India (or so I’ve read).

Fun Fact: The First Alliance with the Kingdom of Gandhar (search Kandahar, Afghanistan) is in current day Afghanistan. The Mahabharat was part of the real, true India/Bharat, and not the sliced up cake that is Pakistan, India, Bangladesh. It stretched from Afghanistan all the way to Bangladesh and up from the Himalayas (Nepal, Bhutan) down to South India!
@mananmody93552 жыл бұрын
Gandhara is not Kandahar. It is North Western Punjab around Rawalpindi/Taxila and Peshawar valley of KPK. Its capital was Pushkalavati (Modern day Charsadda). Takshashila was a city state surrounded by Gandhara state for most of its existence but had been a part of Gandhara on and off.

There was no India back then, it’s a name given by the British Rulers to that part of the world after their rule! Don’t confuse Bharat as India! India was the name given to that part of the land that the Britishers had left after they divided Pakistan and Bangladesh! Before the Britishers, there was no India! Stop saying it is India! If you claim it was India then every other ruler who ruled the land can call it what they named it when they conquered India! Stop trying to glorify the inherited British name !
@5g747-A2 жыл бұрын
Quick Reference for your Indian name: The name "India" is originally derived from the name of the river Sindhu (Indus River) and has been in use in Greek since Herodotus (5th century BCE). The term appeared in Old English as early the 9th century and reemerged in Modern English in the 17th century. Further information: India (Herodotus) India was the lower Indus basin in Herodotus's view of the world. The English term is from Greek Ἰνδική / Indikē (cf. Megasthenes' work Indica) or Indía (Ἰνδία), via Latin transliteration India.[2][3][4] en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_for_India
@5g747-A2 жыл бұрын
@Rohan Ghaisas .. remember to stop hugging India’s neighbouring countries as India because it never was part of India ! Go learn the history before you geographically claim something as yours when it’s not true! Learn facts not fiction! India was always called India but not by Indians themselves. “India” was the word Europeans use for the subcontinent, itself borrowed from the Persian word “Hind”. Europeans dropped the ‘H’ because both Greek and Latin have no use for ‘h’ sound. They fancied suffixing “ia” to names of countries - Italia, Britannia, Russia and so forth. Indians, while always acutely aware of their distinctness with respect to rest of the world, did not think of themselves as nation in the modern sense. Probably, constant invasions, changing borders, short lived dynasties exhausted them that they stopped bothering with the idea of a nation or country. Pointless, the names they gave themselves never stuck. Even centuries of Muslim rule did not change that. The Brit came along and yelled out "Hey! You Indian!” and the guy looked back asking "You talking to me?”.

it was sort of a kidnapping because bhishma had vowed to remain celibate and he went to the syamwar in place of his step bro's . if i remember correctly amba became the reason for bhishma's death as she was born as shikhandi who caused bhishma's death

@@ravantheoghacker863it might not be technically kidnap but taking away an unwilling woman amounts to the same. Karma came back in the form Sikandi who caused the death of Bhishma. Bhishma made few mistakes in his life, one of them is this “ kidnapping “. The other pabha is not doing anything about Draupadi’s unrobing and being a silent witness to this atrocity in spite of her lament to him. Beauty of our epic is everyone is laid bare.
@suryasubenthiran8622 Жыл бұрын
@@Earlytorise89It's not a kidnapping. The suyamvara is an event where bride chooses her husband, typically by some contest. If she already chose the husband why did't she inform her father and arrange the marriage without conducting suyamwara. It's a cheating to invite the kings from all over the world even though she already chose the husband beforehand. How Bhisma is supposed to know this love affair. He thought this was a genuine contest and won all the kings including her lover. When he got to know this love affair he respected the bride's wish and allowed her to marry her lover. It's not Bhisma's fault that her lover couldn't accept her.

It is a thousand times better and deserves a separate position. At the same time you cannot discredit the value of game of thrones, or better, A song of ice and fire, the series of books it is based on. Epified team, its evident that you guys are working round the clock but please make sure "Krishna" and "Mahabhaata" series run simultaneously instead of one taking a backseat for the other. What you bring to us is undoubtedly addictive (nothing less than freeflowing poetry), of superlative quality, and I make this request purely out of the curious greed of your loyal and appreciative audiences (at least me!). An overdue standing ovation to Girish Malap, Vijayendra Mohanty and of course, Sukant Goel! Many thanks again!

Trick for people who feel it's confusing is to 1st watch various 5-10, 10 mins short videos of Mahabharata. Then watch this series. It worked for me🙏🏼🔥❤️☺️ Keep learning 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

As a huge fan of this epic, I feel that it tried to convey topics about child grooming, extramarital affairs, rapes, sexual harassment, and much more... if considered in today's concept and so on... and I know that this epic story does exactly that in a very cultured, appropriate as well as apprehensive way

9:44 Parshuram gave up? ":D Dude vowed to never give up from the battle. The trick he used was to make Bhishm go back so that none will give up and the tiresome battle will stop. Atleast thats what i heard

Just a disclaimer that this video series is discontinued after episode 53. Please don't start watching this unless you want to be left hanging on how this story ends.

@@pratikh7790 With utmost respect to Sadhguru, his talks on Mahabharata are unfortunately not accurate. He deviates from the original in several places, which changes the characterization of important people in it. Other scholars such as K S Narayanacharya and Bannanje Govindacharya are the best.

No discrimination here, but I personally feel that male voiceover is the best here and the female voiceover clearly seems to be highly ineffective than that of the male. Would be glad if the same male voiceover is used for all such full videos.

Wow Wow Amazing work of graphics, explanation was lucid. Laudable work done. Excellent I felt drawing at times couldn't catch the narration and after aometime we wait for the pic to be fully drawn and by the time Narration moves on to another.
