Usually that portion of Boodle bundle can range up from 999 pesos to 1500 pesos here in PH, but one thing they could have done though to further heighten up the overall Filipino vibe is they could have added some "ATSARA" or pickled papaya shreds or "ITLOG MAALAT" either ways it's nice to see Koreans enjoying Filipino tradition 💖💖

P2K for that amount of meat is not bad. Of course, you can choose to go to a buffet restaurant and spend about the same amount. I guess you are a paying a bit more for the novelty of boodle fight. Inihaw na tilapia, itlog na maalat and chopped tomato are boodle fight staples.

Boodle is a Phil. military slang term for food. Usually rice, sardines and pansit with meats or sea foods arranged on top of banana leaves. The term fight is added because the idea is to force your way to the food and eat as much as you can with your bare hands. The term and practice originated in PMA to bolster morale and camaraderi and was adopted in all academies, PNPA,PMMA,MAAP etc.etc. today all police and military trainings have it in their culture.

I once heard from a military that Boodle fight is one way of showing camaraderie, friendship and peace between the two opposing "teams" . The idea of eating together in 1 "plate" (food spread out in banana leaves) and using hands is to ensure that there won't be any poison in the food.

Boodle Fight was inspired by the military style of eating. This is a kind of feast that is meant for sharing, sharing all the food. you must use your bare hands to eat. Utensils are strictly prohibited as a sign of respect of following the old traditional Filipino culture. Boodle Fight does not mean it's a food fight unless of course, you want to go into that kind of level and test your friendship with your friends. However, Boodle Fight is supposed to be a friendly type of feasting and not something you stress on. Boodle Fight came from two Military slang. Boodle - Treats or Foods Fight - The “fight” in the name refers to the act of grabbing and eating as much as the soldier can before others grab them.

The most common boodle fight of average Filipino 🇵🇭 was; 1. Collecting money from everybody then buy rice and cook it. 2. Buy whatever "Ulam" you like in the "karenderia" (usually one ulam per person, but if your kinda rich you can buy more). 3. Of course you need a banana leaf and wash it. 4. Put the rice and the ulam on the banana leaf. Enjoy It's great especially when you're tired and hungry for example after a basketball game. Most memorable moment of my life 😊

4:45 - If i am not mistaken, Philippine Military Academy cadets and officers came up with this term and passed it on to the entire military. "Boodle" is likely American military slang for contraband food such as pastries, cake, candy and ice cream, although in the field, soldiers would pool together what they have or what they have hunted/scrounged from their surroundings. Both the officers and enlisted men would partake in the meal to build camaraderie, teamwork and a sense of equality.

anything that has banana leaf, many different foods or even a single type of food like big grilled fish, and lots of rice and then more than 1 person eats on it is boodle fight.. in the province they do this when there are guests, and they cook everything so fast like lunch time to accommodate the hungry guests and then they put everything on a table with banana leaves..One single thing about boodle fight is lots and lots of rice. This is because Filipinos eat lots of rice. We do it especially with dried fish, even with a single dried fish, a single Filipino can consume about 3-5 servings of rice just for a single side of a dried fish. Take notice when you see Filipinos eat at Mang Inasal, because it serves unlimited rice, a single meal of chicken takes about 3-5 servings of rice for one person.

Boodle fight had its origins at the start of the American colonial period in the Philippines as an American West Point cadet's feast. It became a practice of eating on a large banana leaf because it not just adds the aroma of the food but also very ecinomical for the soldiers easily put aside when they're done eating. Back in the days soldiers used eat on a standing position side by side with their commanders to show their brotherhood and equality. According to most articles “fight” in the name refers to the act of grabbing and eating as much as the soldier can before others grab them, otherwise they won’t have anything left.
