Savona basically means Finale Ligure...you might know it for the EWS stage. It's a land of amazing trails, sea, great food...and the typical hospitality of Liguria 😂. You definitely need to plan an Italian/Euro trip.

I definitely am in 2 minds about this video. Stoked on the content you guys throw out, love watching your stuff and have definitely gotten ideas for riding areas from some of your vids and I love riding this zone (Savona) but last time I was there last year the native land owners were not happy at all people where riding there, and as such asked us to leave. Which we promptly did. I hope anyone who sees this video and chooses to go check out this zone respects their wishes if they do ask people to leave. It would be very disappointing if this area was completely shut down due to irresponsible people.

I really appreciate that background info, Dean & Stephen. Obviously, the video made me super pumped, and the first thing I did when I saw the video was to start looking up the trails, but hearing that the Skeetchestn are apparently asking people not to ride the trails makes me think the video is inappropriate and not respecting the rights or wishes of the local nation. While we all love riding new zones, especially ones that have stellar trails and aren’t absolutely packed, we (as a mountain bike community) need to mindful of whose lands we are on, especially here in BC where there are ongoing land disputes.

Hey guys! We actually ran into someone when we arrived who was from the area and informed us of what was okay to ride and what wasn't. Everything in this video respected those boundaries. Incredibly grateful to have ridden in Savona and completely agree about respecting the land that these trails are on.

@@westcoastatheart Fair question! We spoke to the a member of the Skeetchestn responsible for the range management in the area and provided our contact information to him as well. They asked us to refrain from riding anything below a certain point and pointed us in the direction of trails that were able to be ridden respectfully.
