I've done a lot of hammock camping. If you're not stuck inside a bug net and you're very careful, you can have a midnight pee right over the side. Very handy. Once in Sequoia National Park, the only option that I had for hanging my hammock involved strapping to a standing dead tree. I gave it a good shove or two before setting up and it was solid for the first two nights. Then later the second morning as I was building the breakfast fire the dead tree fell down Away from my hammock, nearly hitting my friend. It tore out three loops on each of my straps but the ENO hammock was fine. I'm using it still to this day. The rangers turned up to check things out, but it turned out they were just there to look for some fat grubs to fish with later.
