That sounds real sick with two guitars, wish I could see the other one.

RtF/Romantic Warrior was released in 1976. "Meeting of the Spirits" was on Inner Mounting Flame, which was released in 1971. It's more accurate, if you think they sound similar, to say that RtF/Romantic Warrior sounds like what Mahavishnu had done five years earlier.

This is lame. Nowhere near as good as the original. Make your own music.

unseen guy is MUCH better than Herington , at this style anyway. This music was bout raw abandon tempered w virtuosic technique. Jon here has neither! sorry to say.

Just bad video production by the club. The Iridium does streaming videos for a lot of its shows. This was not the fault of the band.

the drummer's ego is coming out of his ears. look at me, I think I play like cobham. (if only). I'm playing in 9. No 5. Wait I think 12? WTF? Cant we play something in 4/4?

Incredibly ignorant judgment call on Gregg Bendian. You really ought to learn more about Gregg. He's been drumming for decades and was listening to Mahavishnu in third grade in 1973. The Mahavishnu Project is only one facet of Gregg's career, and he put out several recordings with MP, and did several mini-tours. The first time I saw MP live, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. People were incredibly excited to hear this great music being played again. Maybe, just maybe, he's trying to sound like Billy playing this music because...duh...that's what he's actually doing on purpose...paying honest, respectful tribute to some of his musical heroes. Regarding other comments below, it's Doug Lunn on bass, Jesse Gress on the other guitar, and Neil Alexander on keys. If anyone doesn't know who these fine musicians are/were (Doug...may he r.ip.), you might want to educate yourself.
