I do like that Mahidevran finally spoke her mind to the Valide, but, as always, her greatest weakness is when her emotions get the better of her. But it's really sad because I can see she's trying to mirror Hurrem's actions in a way---Hurrem always spoke up, caused a scene, and was rewarded. So she doesn't understand why she can't or shouldn't just do the same and have the same results. Although, honestly, so damn proud of Hurrem for pointing out how these people have no right to get angry and refuse to obey the very rules they always insisted she herself follow. Call them out, girl!

rightt and that's one of the reason why Suleiman fell in love with Hürrem she stood out From the very beginning and always defended and protected her loved ones. Valide,Mahidevran, Ibrahim and the others in a way influenced her to act cruel towards them she wasn't going to tolerate their bad actions towards her forever and it was worse because she was a teen when she arrived she had seen her parents and sister die in front of her eyes and then had to deal with all this drama and injustice when she didn't even want to be there in the first place.

Hurrem was very intelligent, she knew what she can or can't do, she was a mastermind, she was also so much braver. There is also a fact she could rely on Suleyman and a fact he loved her. Mahidevran finally stood up for herself, but she can be shut down so easily, she was not that smart and durable as Hurrem, no one would see a threat in her unless she did not have someone watching her back. She could be wicked, but Hurrem always outsmarted her. Mahidevran was not dumb, but she always needed the other ones to think for her - Valide, Ibrahim. Then Mustafa had the power and while she tried to take advantage of it, she was never really succesful. Mahidevran is more of a tragic character. She lost everything, while she was not dumb, she was not smart enough to competite Hurrem and not charismatic enough to keep Suleiman's attention. Mahidevran always relied on other, more smart and powerful people, which is not bad, but that's the main diference between her and Hurrem. Hurrem, even tho she had allies, she was always alone in fight and she had to think for herself.

Mahidevran depended too much on the strength of allies, being influenced by them, while Hurrem had to become an expert in fighting on her own with no one in her corner. It particularly meant that Mahidevran grew steadilly more defenselss as Hurrem eroded away her support system.

I felt bad for Mahidevran (well not the one in the show actually lol--I'm not sure if they even portrayed her correctly, all I know was she definitely was not the 'lucky' one when Hurrem was alive) character irl. Although her fate was she outlived both Suleiman and Hurrem, and after Hurrem died, she finally lived in a much better condition after years of struggling financially. So I think that there was some truth that Mahidevran and Hurrem really disliked each other, I mean, even Suleiman let Mahidevran suffer (struggle financially) after he executed Mustafa. She was truly dependent on the kindness of Suleiman to be able to have money and pay for day-today. Up until Hurrem died, Suleiman refrained from taking care of Mahidevran financially, but once Hurrem passed, he did gift Mahidevran property and paid for her day-do-day so she started to live well, it continued on with Hurrem's son, making sure Mahidevran lived comfortably until she died.

The main one was to petition the sultan for position for people in his employment and marry off his concubines. She did none of these. Instead she financed her grandson and his mother to run away. It took Suleiman six months to find them. She then sold everything she had to finance the rebels who said Mustapha was still alive and that people should rally behind him. That were the reasons her income was stopped. Nothing to do with Hurrem.

Valide and Hatice had no problem telling Hurrem that it didn't matter whether she bore 1 prince or 1,000 princes for the empire that she was nothing but a worthless slave and that her children were their blood and not hers. Mahidevran is an idiot here who can't control herself. Hürrem's strength is that she learned to behave and fight with intelligence. Mahidevran still acts the way Hürrem used to in the beginning, shouting and insulting and losing her temper. If Mahidevran cared about her son and keeping him alive she would shut up and be calm and wait for his turn in patience. But she can't get over her hatred and jealousy, that's her big mistake. Honestly….Mahidevran isn’t wrong about what she said to the Valide. Mahidevran was clearly struggling and she was shut down every time she tried to express her frustration. She told Ibrahim and Hatice on separate occasions that SS doesn’t touch her and their response was to not discuss her private issues. When Mahidevran first arrived to Topkapi palace she was upset that SS didn’t summon her and Valide admonished her. Also, Hatice found Mahidevran crying on her bed and told her to not cry like an inexperienced concubine and then hugged her as if that was gonna do anything. All that pent up anger & frustration with no healthy outlet led her to down spiral. Not saying what she did was smart or right though.

Yes, a lot of what Mahidevran said to Valide was true. But Valide also shares quite a bit of fault in this. When Suleyman found out that Mahidevran assaulted Hurrem and then went on to poison her, he rightly demanded that Valide banish her as punishment. She didn't do it because she was partial to Mahidevran and that led to Sulyeman carrying out his own punishment of ignoring her because Valide didn't do as he asked. Valide then demanded that he spend Thursday nights with Mahidevran even though he made it clear that he did not want her interfering in his intimate life. Instead of listening to him, she forced the issue and all that did was lead to Mahidevran spending humiliating night after humiliating night being shunned by Sulyeman. Had Valide done what Suleyman asked from the beginning, she might have saved Mahidevran a lot of future heartache. Her partiality towards Mahidevran didn't really do her any favors.

I don’t think there was an actual issue with the crown in history, although suleiman gifted hurrem with a LOT of jewels overthr course of their relationship. I think it’s more representative of just how much of an upstart hurrem was. I forget if it’s happened in the show yet, but hurrem became suleiman’s legal wife, although it was after Hafsa Sultan died (sulieman’s valide , called Ayse in this show for some reason?). the thing is, ottoman sultans NEVER married. hurrem was, from what i understand, the first empress of the ottoman empire. by doing this, suleiman elevated her over all other women in the ottoman empire, including his own family members. it’s true, mahidevran sultan was very very mad about it, but suleiman’s valide actually respected hurrem a great deal. tl;dr: there was no actual issue with the crown in history, so it’s more representative of the unprecedented power she had. also one of the first women to have a crown, so there might actually be a fight about it that we don’t know about. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
