The sad thing about this scene is that you can see how happy he still is about Mahidevran, he uses beautiful words, gives her gifts... And never blame anyone without being sure about it. She knows Suleyman, she knows his promotion and the needs. Mahidevran loving herself and her needs, she never loved Suleyman, but herself in himself. Nothing more, nothing last. Suleyman in the scene when she lost a baby, give her the promise that she will born other children to him, but Mahidevran lost the chance because she bit Hürrem and almost kill her.

Exactly. He is a sultan. He has to take care of the entire Empire. His harem was there for his needs, to help him calm down and amuse him (as cruel as it sounds today). So a concubine had to never burden of tire him with her own issues. Mahidevran did just that. She complained too much. I wonder if Mahidevran's fate would have been any different, had she given birth to another boy? Hurrem had three other sons to rely on even if she lost Mehmet. Even the hunchback Cihangir would be an "asset" to her in the absence of other sons. She finally had a glimmer of hope in her life, an opportunity to rekindle the love between her and Suleiman, but she threw it away with her constant complaining about Hurrem. He gave her gifts and kind words, and she gave him what she gives everyone else: grief. I wish I could say I feel sorry for her, but after watching her throughout the whole series, I'm really not. Her life is just an endless downward spiral of fear, grief, anger, hate, and bitterness. She had more than enough chances to turn her life around with Suleiman, to create her own circumstances rather than letting them control her, but she wouldn't.

I feel so sad for Mahidevran. She was the long-established first love, mother of a prince, and already called Sultana. Everything she ever had in life, that nobody-nothing harem-clutter Hurrem took away, starting with the ring that was made for and given to Mahidevran already.
