Mahindra Mojo vs KTM Duke 200 - Drag Race | MotorBeam

www.motorbeam.com puts the Mahindra Mojo against the KTM Duke 200 in a quarter-mile drag race. The Mahindra Mojo is powered by a 300cc engine which generates 27 BHP of power and 30 Nm of torque while the KTM Duke 200 produces 25 BHP of power and 19.2 Nm of torque. Both bikes are matched to a 6-speed gearbox and use upside front forks, the tyre size being identical on both the street-fighters.

This video has something strange, two details call my atention: 1) Observe (in 1080p whit video in pause) the minute 0:23, in Ktm duke the clock strikes 17:48 pm and the travel time is 43 min. Now, look minute 0:38 (of the video) and in Ktm duke the clock strikes 17:50 pm and the travel time is 45 min. the question is, two minutes has taken the ktm duke to accelerate from 80 to 100 km/h? 2) in minute 0:26 approximately, the pilot puts the 5th gear to 91 km/h, and, in minute 0:36 the bike is already in the 6th gear and 100 km/h, that is to say that the bike has only been in the 5th gear from 91-100 km/h, only 9 km/h!! The question is, so short is the 5th gear? I have a Ktm duke 200 and I place 6th gear at 120 km/h pd: my english is bad, sorry xD

The only logical reason behind your observations i can think of is that they did multiple drag races and shot the video from multiple angles as well... edited and complied all those different angles into one video for us to see. Also i think the result of those different drag races would have been almost similar i.e Duke200 would have won in other races as well which they shot.

duke 200 is best below 100 for cruising ,above 100 you can feel the engine strain...while i feel mojo will be able to cruise at 110-120 with ease, it has a lovely torque figure..also KTM becomes rough and vibey with time...i am using duke 200 for 3 years now..ill most probably go for benelli 300, its way ahead when it comes to quality and exclusivity..:)

I was very happy to c the mojo hanging in there all the way to the finish. Just a meter or 2 behind the duke. And I am mad about the Dukes. So I'm very impressed with the mojo now. Yes its bulky,no two ways about it but its a lot faster than a duke 200,i have clocked nearly 176~180 on a gt250r,with me weighing 55kgs not to mention its a v twin.There are no two ways about it.The duke 200 is faster 0-60 but after 100 the 250r is in its own league.The top end of the 250r is even more than a ninja 250,hence ninja 250 wins in accel and loses on top speed section.The only 250 which has a higher tops than the gt250r is the r25.

Duke 200 has a chance only below 1km race against a 250r.Above 1km,the 250r will pull on while the d200 doesn't have that pull after 135! i did reach a max of around 149-151 on my d200 since it had no limiter,but ironically i overtook another d200 of ,my friend,on my r15(second bike) at around 145+kmph.Duke 200's are definitely not top speed machines.Its extremely unstable past 138,hence the speed restriction makes sense.

Ktm engine heat up the 390 heats very fastly. Only one thing to do add extra radiator fan. Heating is common if the engine not gets proper cooling. Ktm engines are high compression engine's and give good performance even competitor for twin cyilnder so heats up.

+abhishek dubey nope...in pickup duke200 is still faster...coz its really light weight and Mojo is pretty heavy and it takes its sweet time to gather speed, but once past the 3rd gear it would catch on to the Duke200 and would overtake since it has a better top speed. I too have ridden both the bikes. P.S Sound of the Mojo without the db killer is amazing.

That has been mentioned in our review too. With regards to the rider, both the riders weigh almost the same. We did switch riders to get the perfect result.

Well , Mahindra mojo have less pickup as compared to KTM 200 and more weight aswell maybe that's might be one the major reasons why KTM 200 won this drag race..But if you come to long distance races , I'm quite sure Mojo gonna win it!

to all you bozos saying "hey the mojo's rider is bad. How can a 300cc bike loose against a 200cc bike?" Well news flash donuts, there are a lot more factors to be considered in bikes OTHER THAN IT'S ENGINE CAPACITY. Fo example, there are cruisers with engines as big as around 2000cc, but even a 600cc supersports(i'm stretching a bit here) could beat a liter class cruiser. The engines are tuned that way. And by the way, no hard feelings, but in my own opinion, the mojo sucks. Again this is my opinion.
