It's amazing that your roads hold up to water like that....the bottom would fall out of most of ours and you would be stuck in a heartbeat! Glad to see you two are enjoying your new rig😊

Florida has a wonderful road maintenance program, even for dirt roads. They are packed with rock and lime rock dust.

I can feel the humidity through the screen. Such beautiful scenery we have here in Northern Florida. Can only imagine what it looked like back when Ponce De Leon first landed in 1513 and started exploring.

Hello Andrew, Thanks for sharing this update. I had a feeling you were going to get a lot of water after soo many days of downpours.
@TheKelleysReviews6 ай бұрын
This was actually a couple of weeks ago. Now here we getting crazy amounts of rain again the last two days. The rivers might come back out of the banks yet again.

I’d also check your axle breather hoses. Mine were dry rotted bad enough that they just broke apart when I went to replace them.

Did you see any gators. They should be very happy with all the water. Although nesting season might say different. Looks like a lot of fun.

Not that day. Miles and miles of WATER, they could have been anywhere.

once the montanna plate runs out will you be able to register it in florida? one thing i do recommend is doing an oil undercoating to keep rust down! i see that alot every where!
@TheKelleysReviews6 ай бұрын
That's the beauty of Montana, permanent tag and NO vehicle taxes. You need a llc and to file for it yearly. You can add as many vehicles as you want. South Dakota is probably the second most friendly state for doing some of this.

I would also like to know more about this process.

How ready for a snorkel is the drivetrain on that if one were so inclined to drive through deeper water? Would it just be an air intake kit that runs up the windshield post or are there more vents and so forth that would need attention to prevent water intrusion? Going under like that wouldn't be good for the stereo / electronics, but otherwise are the mechanical bits on that thing ready for such shenanigans? TLDR: Back in the day when I lived in the woods I had a '51 M-37 army truck (militarized Dodge Power Wagon) that had a "cruise control" knob on the dash with a plaque, "Pull out when fording" LoL. It would lock the throttle linkage wherever your foot was holding it at the time in case you had to float along above it to breathe. Tales were that you could drive it standing up and steering with your feet on the steering wheel in order to keep your head above water. I didn't have the opportunity to try that out, but it was normal to be more than waist deep while sitting in the seat when driving through Deer Creek to get to the firewood on the other side (which would need to be lashed down to keep it from floating away on the return trip through the river). The ignition system (distributor -> spark plugs) was a water-tight plumbing marvel and that flathead would run on any liquid that would burn. Straight gears / no syncros it's was a beast to drive but it made work happen. The trick was keeping the chainsaws dry on the way.

I honestly couldn't tell you, I've never snorkled a vehicle before. I use 4 wheel drive like an old man, if I get stuck or it gets too deep, I lock it in and back out. Stuff costs too much to be tearing up 😂

Andrew did FL change vehicle registration laws? 20 plus years living in FL required legal residents, that maintained primary residence in FL to register their vehicles within 90 days. Just a question, not a concern.
@TheKelleysReviews6 ай бұрын
Federal registration reprocity laws require states to honor others. My llc in Montana owns this vehicle. It is not registered or owned in Florida.

Just wish we had places to ride like that around here but unfortunately the ones we did have people trashed them up forcing the owners to shut them down . Same way for our rivers were we banked fish , no more due to people trashing them up . Just so sad people can’t pick up after themselves… lazy scum bags ruined it for everyone else ..
