I used car seat for my sons and there is so little awareness about child car seats that even traffic constables used to look like they have seen something alien. The worst part is that I am in Delhi and one would think that national capital will have more awareness. Car seats for children must be compulsory, they are not just good for safety but they are also comfortable.

@@chandravravi I'm myself a car enthusiast, Celerio with ABS and 2 airbags managed to get 3 star safety ratings in EURO NCAP, but to ice on cake it also had in door side airbags and EBD, even though I don't have side airbags and EBD I think I'm safe enough if I travel in speed limits. I paid Rs. 40,000/- extra for 2 airbags, ABS and front seat belts pretensioners because safety matters to me.

If u set aside these crash tests and google incidents/accidents u will see nexon did practically well, where as less data is available for xuv... anyway these tests r done at 64kmph...now since both scored 5 it will be problematic to decide who will fare well at more speed (accidents) and confers to better built quality...the incidents till now proves nexon it is

Tested car is old W8 which is having all the saftey feature including ESP which is must for 5 star. Later Mahindra removed ESP from all the model now available only in AMT and W8 O hence we canit count non ESP model have 5 star rating. This is not a good move Mahindra.

Side airbags are optional? Should be mandatory like Euroncap to get the 5 star rating and would definately not purchase a new car in this day and age without one. You just don't have two lives to play with and no one should have to live or see a family member with brain injuries from a side impact crash involving a taller vehicle or a pole without side airbags protection. Goes to show its not a level playing field after all.

This test was carried out on a mid level variant (W8). In the top variant (W8-O), there are a total of 7 airbags that includes front, side curtains, within seats as well as knee airbags.

@@sri4frndz "carried out on a mid level variant" That I understood what I was pointing out is that their shouldn't be a price on safety just to save money (adding this extra safety feature is not overly expensive). If this test was carried out in Euroncap or Auncap without side curtain airbags a car like this would receive 1 or 2 straight up without even having to crash test for side impact. The car may perform structurally for frontal impact but the best a car without side airbags can hope for is 2 stars under their system. But that's beside the point the Indian government should get tough and lay it out to car manufacturers that to get 5 stars or to be considered for procurement for government use it should have maximum available safety i.e. side protection airbags.

Bro..I have w4 diesel.. Upsized the tires to 260 60 r17.. that caused the tire height to increase by 2 cm... Compared to stock fitment... So you get 200 mm clearance..180+20.. And the best part is.. Even after that I got 20.4kmpl on highway run

the XUV300 and Nexon tested here are W8 and XZ+ and not base variants. Although safety features in nexon are same across all variants while in XUV300 does give all safety features only w8 varinat onwards. SO if you dont have a budget, it is better to buy nexon with all safety features from base variant itself rather than buying XUV300

It's not a Mahindra car infact It's a rebadged SANGYONG TIVOLI. Credits to sangyong for the safety. It's not Mahindra's

Ssangyong Tivoli is a 4* car in Euro test ranking.. and by the way Mahindra acquired SsangYong, and xuv300 uses only the platform of Tivoli.. the structure, safety features including 7airbags for the top variant ,etc are new additions done by Mahindra.. And 1 more thing all variants of xuv300 has disk brakes in all wheels.. Disclaimer:, I’m a proud owner of XUV300 :)

It's not rebadged like alturas. Xuv300 is based on tivoli. Tivoli and xuv300 are different cars and engine options are also different. Mahindra owns this korean brand ssangyong. Xuv300 doesn't comes through ckd and it is made in india. Tivoli exists because of mahindra's acquisition

It's not base model and read on report why they choose this one with alloys. But base and this w8 has same safety and equal airbags
