This review is MISLEADING regarding the petrol engine. It is deceptive for the manufacturer to offer two petrol engines, with the majority of people purchasing one, but reviewers focusing on the engine available only in luxury models. The direct injection engine is not available in any of the affordable variants. Therefore, the review should cover the regular petrol engine.

For people criticizing the XUV 3XO, please note that the car has mostly leather finishes and less plasticky interior compared to other rivals. The Level 2 ADAS is a really good addition as it helps provide additional safety features that are crucial to preventing unnecessary accidents. The design may not be appealing to most, but this design certainly beats the likes of Hycross. The price is proper for all the features offered. The sunroof is not for the summer. Brezza from the side and a bit kigerish from the rear.. Interior look good when new, but I dont think they will age well. Mahindra tries to prioritise 'nice to have' features over 'necessary/safety features' especially in the lower end of the models. Rear defogger/wiper, tire pressure indicator, 360 deg should begiven at lower models, while 'show off' features like sunroof should be an option only for the top end. The ADAS in this doesn't seem to be really useful. Whatever this will heat up the compact segment and hopefully elbow out the 'not so safe' Korean cousins.

Not sure about other variants, but the market positioning of Mahindra XUV 3x0 AX7L is quite ambiguous. It's sized like a Venue or Sonet but its on-road price is closer to the Hyundai Creta S (O) CVT & Kia Seltos HTK Plus CVT. If that ain't enough then it offers better features and power than Creta or Seltos, in terms of features it's more akin to the substantially pricier Creta SX Tech CVT, and let's not forget the fact that due to its size and engine displacement the XUV 3x0 falls at a lower tax slab than Creta and Seltos, so even the total cost of ownership is lower with the XUV 3x0. I think with the XUV 3x0 at least with the AX7L what Mahindra tried to do is create a giant killer. Now if they launch one more variant maybe something named AX8L with ventilated seats then they will even have the Creta SX (O) CVT buy its balls. On a different note, they need to enhance their after-sales services too.

I recently bought it...but unexpectedly disappointed due to manufacturing defects in this series....rats easily get into the bonnet engine and damage wiring and all...

Be it Mahindra or Tata have been launching world class cars but have been missing on updating their service stations. Most of the dealers are pathetic and they have got very expensive even in comparison to a Toyota.

The front design of this new vehicle is simply hideous! I own the XUV700 and generally wants Mahindra and Tata to succeed but this one is hard to love.

Dunno why they cant have beautiful designs when they own Pininfarina which is a design powerhouse

The only design change XUV 300 needed was the rear to align it with its overall squarish design.
