The NBA, and all other leagues, are a business. Today, businesses are being encouraged to save the planet, be involved, and do it by the book. These efforts are scored using what's called an ESG score... Environmental, Social, and Governance. Financial institutions assess these scores for companies seeking to increase access to capital by measuring the depth of compliance with these ESG practices. The higher the score, the greater the chance of getting money when needed. It's a social credit check. I suspect many companies are promoting their "save the world" campaigns to increase their chances of being some of the first companies allowed to set up shop on Mars, which "is going to take a lot of capital". While the floor and helmet decals may be fun to look at and in some cases, jarring, I suspect they are hollow offerings when applied to to solving the problems of those who need help the most. That's called creating justice. DEI efforts are actually about increasing the tolerance of dismissive people to allow them to accept the presence of those they depise and have the power to exclude. Although to make the medicine easier to swallow, DEI efforts are promoted with a candy coating called "change and progress" for and to, the underserved so they can sit right next to their antagonists with a big smile on their face. This is promoted as "success" and supports the corporate "S" score. If any company really believed that BLM, then I suggest having company personnel convicted of practicing any form of harm against anyone, to deliver presentations to everyone, detailing who, what, why, where, when, and how, they practiced this harm and stating who benefitted from this harm. This would give those who are much more confused about how they are harmed, information to recognize the harm, those who are practicing the harm, and how to protect themselves from the impacts of the harm. This would support the "G" score. Anything short of that, is just a drinking straw, lots of form and colors, but hollow. UNLEARN to gain knowledge and dispel beliefs. -Cheers
